Got mine last week. After looking hard at the Springrield Hellcat, and the S&W M&P's and Shields, the P365XL just fit my hand so well. I'm happy with it. Shoots well, and seems to chamber anything I've tried, and shoots to POI every time. I put a RomeoZero on it, boresighted at 30'. After years and years with S&W J's, this may well become my EDC.

Yeah, there are a lot of long time Sig fans who have a safe full of them but carried something else until the P365 variants arrived. I will still carry a PM9 or rare occasions but my Glock 26,43, shield etc. sit in the safe. I carried a Hellcat a few weeks when it first arrived but returned to the P365 as it fit me, and I shot it better. Springfield got the optic cut option right though, Sig should offer it on a standard P365 as well.

The XL is my daily carry. I actually own 3 of them. 1 is for carry, 1 is for training and 1 is stored offsite. I rotate the carry and training guns every other month. I have 1500+ thru one of them, and around 1K thru the other two. Zero issues.

My carry round for them is the Federal 124gr +P HST.

I just picked up one a couple weeks ago. It shoots well, and carries like a dream. It will become the primary once it has more rounds down the pipe.

If you like the P365XL, I would definitely try the P365 with the 12 round extended mags for extra grip.

The P365 and P365XL are both amazing guns. You could call me a Glock fanboy, and if I had to own only one gun it would be a G19, but since I can own as many guns as I want I have several P365 variants and carry one daily.

Actually, IMO adding the XL Grip Module to the std P365 is without question, the ultimate configuration for the P365....Try it and I'm sure you'll agree. Wink

I had handled a P365 back when it was first launched and dismissed it out of hand as being as too small. I require my pinky to actually be 'on the gun', especially for CCW, and I see no other real purpose for the P365 otherwise. When the P365XL was launched, I was unaware it had a different Grip Module, so assuming it was just a P365 w/ a longer slide/barrel, I never gave it any consideration.

It was not until the BLM/Antifa Riots were in full swing over the summer, and I was looking to build an ideal P320 configuration for my wife to carry that I had my P365 epiphany. I was chatting with a Sig Sauer employee / friend on the topic and he recommended the P365. He showed me his 'P365-X' variant w/ the XL Grip Module, and after handling & dry firing it, I was converted. It's a completely different gun, and it eliminated all of my preconceptions about the P365. A few days later, I was on a quest to purchase one....And if my wife starts carrying it, I'm gonna need another one! Cool

I recently picked up a 365 after telling myself I didn't need one for months. Same size as my MK9 but holds 11 rounds versus 7. Normally, I am not a "more bullets" kinda guy for EDC (normally carry a J frame), but the events of the last year have made me realize that having more than 5 might be beneficial.

I have the same issue with the P365 and its stock 10 round mag — no pinky coverage. However, with the 12 round extended mag, my pinky fits perfectly. And with the Magguts +2 addition to my 12 round mags, I now have 14 rounds in the mag and 1 in the chamber. Insane capacity for a gun the size of the P365.

How does the P365 carry vs the J-frame? Are you giving up anything to get the extra capacity?

While workable, the 12 rd Mags w/ the extended 'pinky rest' just seem like a compromise, and scream X-Grip to me. The XL Grip is solid and all there for me...Superior in all respects as far as I'm concerned. Wink

I would have loved to buy a 365 XL instead of the Shield I just bought; alas California.

I'm stubborn so it took me a very, very long time to warm up the 365. I kept thinking I would stick with my 43 since there was nothing wrong with it and it shot and carried so well for me.

Then something clicked a little while ago when I was handling one, and that was it. I've jumped in with both feet, picking one up today and ordering several accessories after I had it in hand.

I'm looking forward to breaking it in soon.

I agree. I don't understand why so many people buy a P365 and then try and turn it into an XL. Just buy the XL from the beginning. It's understandable if you already have a P365 but if buying new.

I was all set to buy the xl. Until my LGS showed me the 365 Tac pac. It comes with 3 12rd mags with the grip ex. It was $50 less than an xl and had 3 mags and a holster. Definitely the best carry gun yet and I have a 938.

I ordered the XL grip module about 2 months before I got a 365. I knew Id want it set up with the slightly longer grip and 365 length slide. With a Grayguns straight trigger and Armory Craft extended mag release it’s just about perfect.

I agree. I don't understand why so many people buy a P365 and then try and turn it into an XL. Just buy the XL from the beginning. It's understandable if you already have a P365 but if buying new.

Since it’s for concealed carry purposes, some people want it to be as small as possible. And if the extra grip of the 12 round mags works perfectly for your pinky, why go with an entirely larger frame? My P365 setup with 12 round mags and +2 Magguts holds 14 rounds with 1 in the chamber and is about the smallest concealed carry piece available. Why would I want to go with the larger P365XL frame if my hand fits perfectly and it is for concealed carry purposes?

Also, there is no “trying to turn the P365 into a P365XL.” The P365 came with the extended pinky 12 round mag from the factory the moment it was released. When Sig designed the P365, they were accounting for people with slightly larger hands by including the 10 round pinky extended mag and the 12 round pinky extended mag. They weren’t simply later add-ons like the super extended 15 round mag was.

I picked up a 365XL back in December on kind of a whim. I had read good things about the 365s and wanted to try it and my LGS had both the 365 and 365XL in stock. After holding them side by side, I definitely liked the grip on the XL better and I liked the flat trigger so I bought it. My son I and shot it a few days later and we both loved how well it shot.

Only problem for me was the overall size of the XL fell in between my current CCW guns (G43 and G48). My 48 is my CCW during colder months and the 43 is for summer pocket carry. The XL was too big for pocket carry but I still preferred my G48 (w/ SA 15rd mags) for this time of year. I ended up giving the 365XL to my son who also loved it and needed a smaller CCW weapon.

Instead I bought a standard 365 and put an XL grip module on it and now have a 365X which is perfect for me. Still get the great grip of the XL but with the shorter slide so it fits in my pocket and will be great for summer carry.

Because not everybody is you. We all have different hands, needs, wants and preferences. You can read my post above to help understand why I did it. May not be "right" for you but it is for me.
