I've noticed the 9mm magazine is stamped made in the USA on this new one I Received. I've also noticed other magazine's stamped made in Italy. Does Sig Sauer outsource some of their parts production to other countries? Thanks to Grayguns for my Sig P320 parts. Thanks to the forum members for their imput.

Sig does not make the 320 magazines. MecGar makes the ones from Italy, Checkmate makes some of the USA mags, with another company I am not familiar with also making some. Many prefer the MecGar mags, myself included, but I have been testing several USA mags in my 320, with perfect results. Rather than panic over the manufacturer, shoot the gun, and worry about the magazine only if it causes problems. OK I'm not an expert but perhaps to avoid abuse on you being new I will try so that the experts can slam me and not you. Since literally time began SIG magazines have been made in Europe, either Germany or Italy. And all was good. Later in life mostly Italy via Mecgar. Then SIG decided to get a US producer and all was not good especially in 226 land (personal experience). But eventually the US producer figured out WTF and moved up the food chain to mostly ok. So at this point it really doesn't matter. I still prefer the italian ones since the history is longer, but you really don't get to pick in this market. Lots of sig parts come from overseas do a quick search on MIM. But in this case on magazines you don't care too much. When SIG first started buying P226 magazines from Checkmate, there were problems with them. That, however, was a LONG time ago, and I haven’t seen reports of anything similar with any of their mags in years—or experienced any problems with the ones I own. I will mention, though, that the only SIG magazines I ever wore out to the point that the springs had to be replaced were made in Deutschland über alles Germany in the 1990s. Mec-Gar mags, on the other hand were standard for SIG pistols for many years and have an excellent reputation. ► 6.4/93.6

As stated above SIG uses 3 contractors to supply P320 mags. Italy = MecGar USA "C in square" rollmark = CheckMate USA "J in circle" rollmark = undisclosed mfr I have all 3 in the stable and they all function equally well. Quite possibly my favorite 17rd P320 mag is another Made in Italy mag. ACT-Mag (Armscor bought them out) Model 3209 Better finish than any of the SIG branded mags. About $22 from Greg Cote I've pondered putting some +5 or +6 basepads on those. But the OEM 21rounders are not too pricey if you shop around.

If OP is upset about SIG using US-made magazines, his head might explode when he learns SIG uses MIM parts from India in the P365 and P320.

I'm staying with the manufacturer, my armory has firearms that are factory parts only, S&W, Colt, Windham, Ruger, CZ, Winchester, Remington, Savage, and so on. Thanks to Grayguns for my Sig P320 parts. Thanks to the forum members for their imput.

Funny thing about Sig Sauer parts, the ones I have so far have "made in the USA" on the part, packaging. We'll see which ones are not USA made as I progress onward.. Thanks to Grayguns for my Sig P320 parts. Thanks to the forum members for their imput.

The "manufacturer" didn't manufacture your magazines.

It's a "factory Part" from Sig Sauer, not trying to split hairs, however I am trying to keep it with "factory parts" the factory may have sourced from another place, then stamped it with Sig Sauer. Thanks to Grayguns for my Sig P320 parts. Thanks to the forum members for their imput.

The magazine that I have is stamped Sig Sauer made in the USA. All of the parts bags are made in the USA. The grip module said made in the USA, and the frame said made in the USA. I'm pretty happy with that since any parts that are imported need to be stated. The slide may be something different, however I am not on the slide parts yet. Thanks to Grayguns for my Sig P320 parts. Thanks to the forum members for their imput.

Left-Handed, NOT Left-Winged! |
Given a choice I will take magazines from Mec Gar over USA made Checkmates or "other" any time I have the option. All of my P320 mags are Made in Italy. I saw a bunch of new mags at one of the LGS but they were all Checkmate and I decided to pass. Last few mags I bought from Midway were all made in Italy. P365 Magazines have all been made in USA since the introduction of the pistol, but I recently ordered one from Midway and got a shiny blue one (not the more satin blue of the US made ones) that is stamped made in Italy so looks like Mec Gar is making those too now, It's hard to know what you will get if you order them. As for P226 mags, my Legion came with 3 USA made 15 round ones and I both a 4th, plus two USA made 20 rouns. Why Sig doesn't change to 17 rounds as standard I have no idea. As for aftermarket mags, anything Mec Gar makes is should be fine. Langdon Tactical ships Mec Gar 18 round mags with the LTT Elite and I'm pretty sure Ernest wouldn't provide them if the were not reliable.
