I'm thinking of adding a Glock 29 Gen 4 to my Glock collection. I carry a Glock 30 Gen 3 now. Just curious if anyone carries a 10mm as an EDC? _____________ "I enter a swamp as a sacred place—a sanctum sanctorum. There is the strength—the marrow of Nature." - Henry David Thoreau

No but I can offer that when I shot the G29 I was expecting it to be more energetic in my hand but found it was really pleasant to shoot. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. So I can at least give a thumbs up to your platform choice. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

Yes, either the SIG P220-10mm, or my Rugur GP100 Wiley Clapp model (3" bbl). More often the revolver, unless I am going to the Phoenix area. Both in Andrews Leather Saddle Style OWB holsters with a straight drop, and with thumb breaks. They hug the body and conceal well. I use a 1.75" Wilderness Instructors 5 stitch belt, which supports the weight nicely. Underwood 180gr Gold Dot ammo is the choice for both. When in doubt, mumble

DW full size 1911 in 10mm. It's my winter carry and I alternate a DW Commander size 1911 in 38 Super for summer. Freedom comes from the will of man. In America it is guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment

I carry a Gen 4 G29 at times. Not often though as I don't feel it's helping me more relative to carry comfort over my G32 or even P365. I've been sticking to OWB mostly with it when I do in a Brommeland Def-Con. ___________________________

Until the “kids” (my niece and nephew, but we all Live on the same farm) started to get into everything, I carried a G29, and had a set of G20s as the car gun and nightstand gun. In a more urban area, I would probably keep the same set up, but in 45. 10MMs are very loud, w.o. Hearing protection. I put a deer down with my G29, loaded with buffalo bore, and it took 3 days for my hearing to recover.

When I go out in the field and I know there are bears around, I carry my G20. Shoots great. And I have a lot of Cor Bon self defense ammo. So I thought a G29 would be a good carry weapon for EDC. Should fit my G30 holster. _____________ "I enter a swamp as a sacred place—a sanctum sanctorum. There is the strength—the marrow of Nature." - Henry David Thoreau

Glock 29 in the woods in a shoulder holster. Occasionally in the city with 135gr Underwood in an ugly part of town. Wearing a coat it's hidden from sight. U.S. Army 11F4P Vietnam 69-70 NRA Life Member

I did, For a short time. I used a G22 as a primary duty pistol from early 2002 to late 2004. During personal time, I carried revolvers, or a G29. When I switched to a SIG P229R DAK, I decided to go all-in with long-stroke DA, so gradually traded or sold the Glocks, but I kept the G29 magazines and holster, because I had heard about the development of the Short Frame Glocks, and knew that I might eventually own a G29 again, someday. I returned to using Glocks, though 9mm, when I found that the Gen4 is a better fit, in my hands. So, it is likely I will add a Short Frame or Gen4 G29, sooner or later. Have Colts, will travel

There is absolutely no reason to carry anything other than 9mm for EDC and HD against people sized threats. Not that other handgun cartridges are bad it's just that they don't do anything better and a lot of things worse than the 9mm. Just research the FBI Protocol. Long story short, unless you go above a velocity of 2200FPS any bullet is simply going to poke a bullet sized hole in or through a human target. Below 2200FPS the temporary wound cavity doesn't expand fast enough to tear, it just stretches the flesh, which simply collapses. You simply need enough to poke a hole deep enough to poke it through the vitals, which is about 16 inches at the most. And modern 9mm cartridges will do this. Do the research on your own if you don't believe me. Now, if you're carrying for defense against something like like large bears, then you need the horse power of 10mm or 44mag to poke that bullet sized hole deep enough to hit the vitals of a bear.

I am sorry and also trying to be respectful of your opinion John 3200, but your claim for the 9mm round being the only acceptable round for edc does not leave room for other caliber choices which are certainly as efficacious. I'm not sure there are any absolutes. The OP's question was simply asking if anyone carries 10mm for EDC not whether anyone thinks it is proper or justified.

I have a good friend in Alaska who would disagree. Some people carry for other than 2 legged threats...
