I encourage you to learn the SAO manual of arms or to sell the pistol as is. SAO is not easy to begin, but offers much in practical accuracy.

Not sure how new a newer P226 is, but a 2016 model can be done as a parts swap.

Casting changes and mill work may be required depending on which version you have.

If by newer, you mean the US made XFIVE SAO, it’s not possible (as is) to convert it to DA/SA, since the left side of the frame does not have the hole for the decocker bearing’s arm to come through. You’re going to have to drill the hole yourself.

Are you asking about the X5 or the new P226x legion? The X5, I pretty sure no. The P226x legion is supposedly swapable but I’m not sure how much the kit to do so costs.
