When the 250 was first introduced I was somewhat of an oddball, because I loved the platform at a time when there was nothing but negativity on the forum. The Sig purists hated the gun. I have more tha one complete 250s and a couple extra Xchange kits. My nightstand gun is a 250 compact 45 acp with attached flashlight.

My experience: I bought a P250SC when they first sold. Cost me $414 OTD. But, I couldn't get used to the long DAO trigger pull, so sold it to a Pima County Sheriff who told me she loves the gun. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

Picked the gun up at my FFL today....have not shot it yet but I like the feel of the grip and I like the way the double action trigger feels... yes, it is long but very smooth and you can tell after a few times when it is going to break.... I know in theory some schools teach you don't want to know when the gun is going to fire exactly.. but I actually do. My Native American Name: "Runs with Scissors"

A P250c in 9mm was my first semi-auto and first SIG. Immediately loved the smooth trigger and simplicity of operation. It is a gun that is greatly underrated and underappreciated IMHO. Don't carry very often but still LOVE that P250!

I think the biggest problem now is I'm interested in the Sub Compact P250 with this in mind... how hard is this to do with the existing module? Would I also have to change out the slide and barrel along with the grip/frame?This message has been edited. Last edited by: Blume9mm, My Native American Name: "Runs with Scissors"

SC is a great pistol. I have one. I have the SC grip module and an FS grip module I cut the front end of the dust cover off of. So it will take 21 shot mags. One thing to remember; Tho technically, any magazine longer than the grip module can be used, the longer mags can be seated too far in the gun and tie it up for reloads. The design really demands that the mag fit the BOTTOM of the grip module to prevent overseating. They are fantastic pistols. ********************** 53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. If you don't want to cut down your existing grip module you can purchase an exchange kit (approx $375) comes with a slide, recoil spring, barrel grip frame and magazine. The slide already has night sights on it. The process of removing the firing control unit (FCU) is easy. If I can do it, anybody can and there are plenty of video's on it. I did need to get a newer slide stop assembly as I had an older grip module (I went from a SC to a C). But once I got the slide stop assembly that was easy to change out and now I can easily swap back and forth depending on what I need. "Thanks Pete!" I also just ordered a C grip module in "Small". The original one I got was a medium, which is fine but I think I would have an easier time reaching the trigger with the smaller frame. I highly recommend purchasing the exchange kits as they get mailed directly to your house and you can swap into whatever you need.

I mated a Compact grip module to my Sub-Compact .45, sawed off the excess length and removed tho rail. Got me a 10-shot sub-compact P250! Shoots great and carries easily! "Dead Midgets Handled With No Questions Asked"

If you have a compact size P250 and want a subcompact model, you would need to find a caliber X-change kit, even though you did not want to change calibers. The X-change kit includes the new SC grip module, one shorter magazine, and the complete upper with slide, sights, barrel, and recoil spring assembly. The subcompact P250 has a shorter slide and barrel (by .3") than the compact. However, you should be able to use a subcompact grip module with shorter magazines on your compact upper with the same FCU. The relative slide and barrel dimensions of the compact and subcompact P320 are exactly the same as those for the P250. I have used a subcompact grip module with my compact P320 upper and FCU without any difficulty. This would also be a much cheaper option than an exchange kit, in all likelihood. The result would be a pistol with a slightly longer slide and barrel than a subcompact. You would probably also have a very small gap between the end of the dustcover portion of the grip module, and the spring box at the end of the slide. This would be so small as to probably be of no significance. If you get a small subcompact grip module, it will be without a rail and have a rounded trigger guard.

That's one of the few things I don't like about a number of sigs is the squared off front of the trigger guard. I don't understand why they do this and who designed it... I always imagine it was someone they hired from Glock. My first Sig, as I've mentioned was a Sig 230 in .380. This was a stainless steel frame with Hogue combat grips... it fit my hand perfectly and was smooth and rounded in just about ever place on the gun.... she has curves like a gun and woman should.. this is probably the main reason I don't like Glocks.. they look like a shoe box to me and the curved trigger guard is one of the reasons I'm now coveting a sub compact P250. Here's my 2 remaining 250's. Top is my .45. Bottom, my 21-shot 9mm SC with a FS module. Funny story about that one... First, I live in a remote spot and would love to compete but don't get to, but I do get to shoot alot, especially critters and of course paper, too as I have a 1000 meter range on my place. I troll the i-net watching you guys compete and whatnot and I think it's the coolest thing. Anyway, I carry a Gen 1 Ruger LC9. I shoot it pretty well. I was going to a class for my Enhanced Idaho carry license and didn't want to bring it, because of simple rotten pride. Why? Because I knew I'd shoot about 300 rounds and while I have killed grouse with the thing I wanted something more comfy. So I got to playing around with some modules I had and the day before the course took a hacksaw to one and dragged that concoction to my range and found out I really liked it. So I decided to bring the Thing. There were about 18 folks there including 2 instructors who were taking the course for their Continuing Education requirements and a CZ factory rep with his souped-up CZ something-or-other he used in competition. The instructor was a great guy, flipped me $hit all day, stood next to me and ridiculed me while I was shooting and in the session on pistols, held mine up and lambasted it as an abomination of the most sordid order since it was a SIG {!!!} first of all and then a DEE-AAYYY-OOHHH on top of it. He was making some good points about reset but it was also in fun as he and I hit it off and thus the $hit-flipping was over-the-top. So the day progressed and I was having fun with my Crossbred/Bastardized/250-Revolver-Triggered Thing. All sorts of scenarios were run and then the final timed test. Then the end of the day and the back rubbing part. LOL. I got the Top Shooter for the day! It was hilarious!! They calculated all the target scores and times and that bastardized P250 ran them all into the dirt. OP: Don't sell the P250 short! And...bottom-heavy pistols with short barrels have something top-heavy-long-barreled jobs don't. Gotta investigate this more... ********************** 53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Good story! The 4 day class I take has a very long part about the trigger reset and being able to get that 2nd shot off faster..... I put short reset triggers on both my P226's... and yes it will allow one to shoot faster with practice... but it won't help you shoot 'better'. Okay, now I have a question.... what is the difference between the 320 and 250 other than the obvious that one module is double action and the other is striker fired? seems the magazines are the same.... how do they module and grip/frame interchange? This message has been edited. The P250 and the P320 have shared the same magazines and grip modules up until recently. Because of the drop-fire issue, SIG has redesigned the subcompact grip module for the P320. The grip modules for the compact, carry, and full-size P320s remain the same. The subcompact grip module for the P250 and P320 always had a much shorter tang than those on the other models. The newly-designed subcompact grip module for the P320 has a longer tang. My presumption is that SIG did this so that the tang would better buffer and impact to the rear of the slide that was the cause of the drop-fire liability. The way that the FCU inserts into the grip module is the same for both the P250 and P320. Otherwise they could not have used the same frame. Obviously, the slides are very different, one using a firing pin and the other a striker. The trigger actions are very different on the two. The P320 requires a much shorter trigger pull and has a much shorter reset. The P250 being hammer-fired has second strike capability. The P320 does not.

I probably screwed up but I ordered the last P250 kit the sig store had....(or at least was in stock) They claim it is a compact 9mm kit (which is what I already have) but the picture shows a curved trigger guard which the only model I've seen this on is the sub compact. Really silly gamble of $375.... but I guess I can send it back if I want to pay for the shipping both ways... the other surprise is I ordered this yesterday morning (Sunday) and got an email that afternoon that it had been shipped. I suspect what this means is someone at the store pulled the order and packed it and entered it in the system for Fed Ex pickup on Monday. I know the Sig store is open until 5:00 on Sundays... been there a few times after a class. My Native American Name: "Runs with Scissors"

I recently bought a P250 from my LGS. I like everything about it. I don't have a problem with the trigger pull on it. I like the weight. The gun fits my hand very well. I found a holster and mag pouch for it. They came from Azula, very nice. Charles Solar

Sorry for reviving the long dead thread, but it has a lot of info close to what I'm looking for so I thought I'd keep my question in it so anyone looking can find it. I have a p250sc in .45. I know the .45 is slightly different in some regards than the other calibers. So can I use it with a caliber exchange kit to change it over to 9mm? What other parts is it interchangeable with? Is the fire control unit the same in all of them? So if I can find a slide, barrel and frame from another .45 caliber will my fcu work with them? I assume the magazines would be different from the sub compact to say a compact or full size.

Yes with a grip from something other than .45acp. FCU is the same for all calibers and all models. Yes. Yes. I'm alright it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up!

So if I find a . 45 compact frame, slide, and barrel my magazines from the sub compact are good to go?

Missed that part of the question. No the mags are grip specific. You can use the compact mag in a SC if you use an Xgrip extension. You can also use the SC slide ect on a Compact grip and with a little mod to the length on a full size grip. I'm alright it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up!
