Nice leather is mostly incompatible.

The Milt Sparks criterion is the best IWB holster I’ve ever used. It fits just right. This kydex stuff isn’t as comfortable.

I need to lose weight. Try AIWB. These love handles get in the way.

I’ve received quality products from QVO and Legacy firearms recently. I Don’t mind the kydex, but sucks to lose the ability to use good leather.

You don't have to resign yourself to kydex only. There are quality custom leather holster makers that accommodate optics.

For example, my preferred custom holster maker is TT Gun Leather, and he can do lights and optics on some of his leather holster models.

Otto, is it possible for Milt’s guys to modify your existing leather to accommodate optics? Might be worth a call before you give up on them.

I’ve spoke to them about it, the criterion cannot be modified due to its design unfortunately.

I’ll look at TT gun leather.

TT's "Reinforced IWB" is a similar design, and can be made to accomodate an optic:

R Grizzle.

Even if not listed as optic compatible he can likely make it work. Did it for me and my 365 XL macro.

I’m gonna give the reinforced mikes special a go. The one Rogue mentioned. It’s clearly a MS2 clone from milt sparks, but the angles seem different. I have 2 TT gun leather holsters from Mike and I like his stuff. While the criterion is a fair bit better than the MS2 in my opinion I am hopeful I can replicate the angle of the criterion with TT gun leather and have a more comfortable carry rig.

Being military AND a boot-pusher, I'm surprised the Navy hasn't "encouraged" you in that department.

I’m by no means obese and still get near max scores on PT assessments. But I e been genetically blessed with a spare tire that could use a 20# weight loss.

Wright Leather Works has several optics-ready holsters from which to choose.

I carry my G45 with Holosun SCS in their Marshal model. I have several of their holsters and I’m happy with all of them.
