kaschi,
I do not see a two letter date code anywhere external.
Sometimes, it's on the side of the barrel "block" opposite the ejection port. I did not remove the top end and remove the barrel from the slide so I could see that surface.

All German-proofed HK pistols (since 2021 I believe) have the date code and the Ulm antler on the underside of the trigger guard.

Out of curiosity do you have a pic of the label. You can sanitize any serials etc. I really am curious.

And a pic of the date code

Thanks for the input. The underside of the triggerguard is an odd location to put that info. I always thought the date code/proof marks looked sort of cool on the side of the slide/frame. On the other side, the underside of the triggerguard IS a good place for the mandatory "Warning" info!

The HK Website states 2 magazines with this ID Number 81000039. Obviously the factory label states differently.

https://hk-usa.com/product/p2000/

It might be worth a call to HK to point this out.

I have 2 P2000sk handguns, LEM, 9 & 40. I consider mine my very favorite CC handgun, when I need a more serious gun over a minimalist choice.

I don’t need another, nice price.

Was going to say the same. Something is off here either HK has some kind of very specific deal in place with a given distrib. Or dealer or there is bullshittery afoot.

As was said. I’d call HK. Worst case they tell you they know nothing best case they shoot you a free magazine.

Although based on what that box appears to be propped up against you aren’t worried about a single magazine. Wink Big Grin

kaschi,
I looked again at the trigger guard on my OD Green P2000, the proof marks and two letter code IS on the bottom surface of the trigger guard.
The pictured P2000 has a date code of "CD"

I carried the P2000 and P2000SK for over a decade in 357 Sig and later switched to 9mm on both platforms. At one time I had five but sold all three of the 357 Sig models. The P2000 and P2000Sk models I still own have been tuned by Grayguns. The P2000 and the CZ PCR are probably the tow most natural feeling pistols on my hands. The HK triggers leave a lot to be desired but are completely combat suitable. Even being tuned by GGi they’re mushy but ar least the reset is shorter and you can mush your way to a discernible wall. I’m tempted to grab the OD green model but so far holding strong.

Me as well (P01 for me) I would add the Walther P99 to my list. The P2000/SK are still my absolute go to pistols. After a thousand rounds or so the triggers…….well they still kinda suck but just add that to the “HK tax”. Razz.

I actually carried the P01 the other day just to remember the days when we all carried mid sized, actual metal guns instead of itty bitty prison pocket poly striker nines. Razz It actually carried quite nicely.

I thought you might catch that Chris Smile It was either a 2x4 or a SP5, lol.

The HK SP5 is pretty scarce here behind enemy lines. I'll have to make another post about that.

I'll be calling HK on Monday about the mag situation.

I actually shot mine (V3) today at an informal meet against guys with tuned race guns or striker fired with red dots. Mine has the GCI reduced reset, flat trigger, and some lighter HK competition springs. It feels more like a stock P229 and I shot it well enough to have several guys come up and ask me what I was shooting. It’s really an under appreciated platform.

Regarding the triggers, Grayguns makes an outstanding steel flat trigger for many HK pistols. Presently, I have a P30S and a USP Compact both in 9mm and both have the Grayguns trigger. Night and day compared to the factory trigger shaped like a boomerang that someone tried to make and failed at. That thing just dug into my finger something terrible. Thank God Grayguns saved the day, for me anyway.

Debating sending my P2000 to Langdon or Bruce. Anybody tried both and have a good comparison?
