Looking to get a set of G10 grips for my P226. Other than Hogue, who makes a nice set of G10 grips for the P226. I know LOK does not and pretty sure I haven’t seen them on VZ Grips website. I see this company on Amazon selling these grips called Cool Hand but doubt they are quality. Pics would be appreciated as well! Thanks! "He's no good to me dead."

Yes, Cool Hand. Cheaper, but, from hat I read, quality is hit and miss. Q

Years ago someone i forget who now made some called Krakens. I liked the looks so i bought a set. Complete shit. Bad fit and holes milled through them. Got my money back out of them and learned my lesson. Stick with Hogue. They make so many options its hard to not find a good choice. If a problem ever arrises Hogue will stand behind them and make it right. Imo looking else where is like looking at those shitty assed wood grips from Hungria. I never was suckered into those but several here did try them and don't recall anything good being said.

You mean KSD from Turkey? Yeah, they are truly shit. Personal experience. Q

Yes and yes. VZ makes some fine beretta and 1911 grips but those Krakens were shit. Marshals was from Hungery. His were hit or mis but for P225/6 options were limited at the time. I even sent him a new pair of factory 225 plastic grips and don't think it ever did him any good. Think it helped with his hammer pivot pin depth issue but thats about it. Externally they looked like two mismatched 2x4’s.

Oh yes, Marschal grips. An acquaintance bought P225 grips from them that were grossly out of specs. What the hell is wrong with these outfits? Q

I’m sure I will end up buying a set of Hogue grips. I do love their grips and own several pair for other pistols. I just am not to excited over their texture options for the P226 G10 grips. But I’m sure they are the way to go. Thanks for the replies to all! "He's no good to me dead."

Kind of hard to beat Hogue for product quality and customer service, IME. "America is at that awkward stage. I have Hogue, LOK, & VZ G10 grips. I have a couple pairs of Coolhand grips for CZ 75. I don't have any Coolhands for Sig, but the pairs I have IMHO are every bit as good as the other brands. Coolhand is made in China, which is why they cost less. I know that's a dealbreaker for some. I like a fine checkered pattern to my grips, like what came OEM on West German Sigs. Coolhand's Diamond Cut texture is my favorite checkered pattern of any grips I've used.

I've had Cool Hand grips for a couple guns-Beretta, Sig,etc., and never had a problem.

As has been mentioned numerous times on the SF, G10's are uniform all the way through. The material is not layered. A light hit with sandpaper/emery cloth to reduce the texture is all that is needed. No change in color. Also, Ken @ Hogue Inc (SF handle) is their manufacturer's Rep and is a SF member. It's a family owned/run business. In other words, good people. ______________________ An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely everything about nothing. --Nicholas Murray Butler

What Q said....I've purchased a set of grips from Marschal and with the delivery came a note that some "fitting" may be necessary. I guess so, never could get them right. Go HOGUE and you won't look back.

I have Marchal grips on a P230 and really like them. Didn't have any issues with them fitting. Worth the wait. For G10s, I just always order the Hogues that Greg Cote carries. And to your question re: other makers, Sig sells the ones with their logo. I know some are Hogue, but it's not clear to me if Hogue makes all of them. (Legion? Emperor Scorpion?) Hogue. Ones that are not Hogue are those G10 on the Classic Carry P225-A1, P226 and P229. They are made by SCI. They are not sold as stand alone parts, however. Q

If you have any questions or concerns, let me know. The New shizzle are the 226 Contour Classic grips. Slightly thicker is some spot and thinner in most. Some limitations in color offerings as well as textures. What we do offer are the most requested/popular. I'm here if I can do anything for you.
