Clean up is the same as the original poly barrel. I do like the crown recess.
I seem to be a bit more accurate with G19.5 than G19.4. That could be a result of the barrel, or a better fit for me. Probably a function of both. I've not shot further than 15 yards and have only shot standing unsupported. 3" groups at 15 yards is about the best I can do with inexpensive range ammo at 15 yards. G19.4 might clock in a little bigger spread but that's anecdotal as I've not done controlled test comparisons. For me the Gen 5 is a pretty good fit.

Don't have one but reports from multiple strong shooters who I personally know and trust indicate higher accuracy out of Gen5. Uncertain if it is a barrel per se, better lockup, both, trigger, but the consensus amongst my group has been fairly unanimous.

I have a very small sample size to report on. My Gen5 G19 is more accurate than my Gen4 G19 but not any more accurate in my hands than my favorite Gen3 G19. Keep in mind that I traded in my previous Gen3 G19 for the one I currently have because it was ridiculously inaccurate. I might have just lucked out with my current one...it was made many moons ago (even before MIM extractors), so YMMV.

Noticeably more accurate with my G17 and G19 Gen 5's than with any other Gen 3 or 4 glock i have owned and i have pretty much owned all of them at one time or another except for the .45 GAP models. One exception-the Glock 40 and 20 10mm Glocks have always been wickedly accurate at distances which i think is a function of the 10mm cartridge which i find to be very accurate out of just about any platform i have fired it from. I cannot say whether its the barrel, trigger, or the fit in my hand that makes the Gen 5 more accurate but the barrel sure isn't hurting it in the accuracy department. BTW, just when i said i am done buying guns, (have been on a tear the last 6 months, a dozen new guns) i just saw the post about the Gen 5 Glock 26. If thats true, I am NOT done buying guns.

Not intending to derail this thread, but have you used the KKM and/or Bar-Sto barrels and what kind of accuracy did you get of of them? And are you taking about the G17 or G19 Gen 5s?

Glock inc will still say no lead, but in my 30 years of shooting glocks with cast lead bullets never had an issue with them. If you can look inside your bore and use a bore brush every 200 rounds or so, the lead is a non issue. This message has been edited. Last edited by: captain127,

So we can expect the next world record in International Military Shooting Sports CISM to be shot with a Glock?

The new barrels seem to exhibit the same accuracy standards as the custom “drop in” fit barrels from KKM and others. They still aren’t the same grade as what you get from the gunsmith fit Barsto barrels though.
I honestly think that Glock set out to take many of the features of the after market crowd and put them into a factory offering.

Lead was never a problem in a Glock.

All I know is that I shoot my new G19 gen 5 much better than my G23 gen 3.
Probably a combination of things, less powerful caliber, no finger grooves, marksman barrel.

Has Glock started selling the new barrels by themselves? Should fit previous generations? Take away some of the aftermarket business?

The G19 barrels will fit older version but the G17 Gen 5 barral was changed to have the same lock up lug as the G19 so new style G17 barrels won't fit older versions.
