Which 9mm HK has the best DA/SA Trigger? Login/Join

I used to work at an MWR range that had 6 P30s and a MK23 as rental guns. The MK23 had the best DA/SA trigger. The single action on the P30 was fine and the DA pull was OK but not great for a service pistol. The German P8 (USP with different safety and transparent magazines) had a good DA/SA pull. The DAK P30 isn't a bad trigger.

That being said, my vote is for the USP9SD. In mine I installed the Jet Funnel and use the longer 18 round magazines. It just seamed the way to go for the one that I have my can on. Sorry I do not have it photographed

Not anymore. The USP9SD is dead, replaced by the USP9 Tactical. (I’ve owned both, currently have it in front of me). The USP 9 Tactical comes with the match trigger, as well as the O-ring barrel of the Elite.

As a huge H&K fan I wish I could say how great their triggers are, I can't. I actually prefer their LEM trigger which I know is not everyone's cup of tea. As for the P30 being discontinued, I don't think so. It is still very popular. I just added one in 9mm and it was difficult to find I had to get an evil state compliant one (10 round) and buy larger mags from H&K. Although I prefer a hammer the VP9 probably has the best trigger.

I know you said DA/SA but the lem trigger is where it's at for HKs. Once this was invented they should have just scrapped the crappy da/sa and made the lem the default trigger.

My P30 with the Gray Guns reset package and about 4000 Rounds is pretty smooth. Recently I did a USPc in 9MM with the Match trigger installed and I'm pretty happy with it (still need to install the Gray Guns reset package). My USP Expert has a phenomenal trigger right out of the box.

USP with match trigger or P serried with Gray Guns work?

Thanks

Q nailed it of course. The guns with a match trigger. Mine is an Expert. Anything else you won’t be impressed by. Not that my Expert trigger will impress you. It’s good for HK, it’s not great. Best HK trigger I own is the LEM on a Combat Tactical USP. That isn’t what it’s called HK’s naming system eludes me. USP with factory jet funnel, LEM, overtravel screw, etc. Whatever that’s called. Lol

My USP 45T V3 is better than my P2000/2000sk V3s and my nephew's P30sk V3.

USP Tactical, Expert, or Elite, all with match triggers. (x10)

The P30 and P30L unfortunately have one of the WORST triggers made by HK. If you're going that route, try the VP9. Yes, it's striker fired, but it's a much better trigger than the P30.

Exactly! We're not talking about the SD9, here. I had the SD9 years ago, and its trigger is nothing special.

Pick which 9mm DA/SA HK you want (I’d pick something you can conceal carry) and send it to Robert Burke.

USP, every fan of HK should have a USP.

The Expert to me is a beautiful looking and well balanced fine triggered model. Jet funnel and 18rd mags are a nice bonus.

Otherwise the USP9 Tac with match trigger would be my second choice.

Iv narrowed it down to one of the classics.

Either USPc with a trigger by one of the known gun smiths (Burke, LWG etc)

Or

USP FS with match trigger.

Any thoughts on how those stack up beyond the obvious. Anyone have experience with both?

Thanks

You will probably get both eventually. I have the FS and shoot it a lot but keep looking at the compact, just because. I'm getting the funds together. Smile (anyone need a kidney?)

@monoblock - just noticed your SP5 comment, went to send you an email but you have none in your profile. Could you send me a quick email? Looking to pick one up.

(Apologies for the threadjack)
