I had no idea this existed until some late night internet surfing last night. Performance Center gun with no lock. All the other versions of the Carry Comp have the lock except this cerakoted green model. Saw it on a YouTube short, the presenter didn’t mention it but I noticed the lack of the lock. Went to Smith’s website they list it and specifically state that it doesn’t have the lock. Went to Davidson’s Gallery of Guns website and they showed availability of 1. All I could do not to hit the Order Now button, remembered I am on the waiting list for a 686 Mountain Gun with my local shop. Was in my local shop this morning, he pulled it up and he has access to 8 of them. So my pnic buy mindset, has calmed. Mine is a 66-5 and a little bit of an oddball. In the early 2000’s Smith did a limited run of 3.25” barrel 66’s with fiber optic sights. Mine was part of that run, but the label on the end of the box where it states sights was literally covered in white out and W/O and RR for white outline rear sight and red ramp front are written in blue ball point pen. It might be worth something to a Smith & Wesson nerd. In an El Paso Saddlery pancake holster it’s one of the best carrying guns that I own. Yes, it’s heavy for its size and only holds 6 rounds, but it is 6 sounds of .357! I also have one of the Ruger Wiley Clapp 3” barreled GP100 in 10mm. I’ve got the mid sized 3” barreled revolver niche covered but, I REALLY WANT THAT MODEL 19! My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball. | |||

Yes please! I’m not a fan of compensators in general, especially on a .357 magnum. “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. S&W has ditched the lock which is commendable. Now they need to make all their revolvers with the old style cylinder release latch. It is much better looking than the one used now. The following is a long shot, but a pinned barrel and the "firing pin in hammer" would be a bell ringer, for me anyway. | |||

I just can't get used to the front sight not being flush with the muzzle. I'd have to pass on ported just for that. ----- Support the entire Constitution, not just the parts you like.
