Picked up another Langdon Beretta 92. I got this one from Palmetto State. Gun looks great. Got it home and racked it and dropped the slide and the hammer followed. Did it a couple more times and the hammer followed. So I cocked the gun and barely touch it with my finger and the hammer falls from half cock or full cock. I mean the slightest pressure drops the hammer. Guess I’ll be calling Beretta tomorrow. I don’t think Ernie actually touched these guns. They just put his parts together and shipped them out. I’ve got several other of his guns and they are all flawless. No wonder they were such a steal.

I'm sorry to say, but that sounds typical of late model production from Beretta's Gallatin, TN plant. The QC there is spotty and a disgrace to the Beretta name.

Yeah, if it didn't come from LTT himself, he didn't massage it.

Still??? I know they had some spin up issues for a year or so but I thought they had worked it out.

What’s funny is I actually hunted down a TN 92 to go with my MD 92 as I have lived both places. Luckily my early TN 92 is perfect.

Heard the same on many forums regarding Beretta TN QC. Sad to say.

And agree with 12131, don't believe he or his crew touched it. Just licensed (agreement) parts installed at the B factory to douchebag sucker folks into thinking its a custom build.

It's the factory 92G Elite with LTT parts, and at $749, if you don't mind getting a gun without an optic cut, is a great deal.

However, the description from the LTT website has this note:

Did you just notice a price drop? For the first time ever, Beretta dropped the price on the Factory 92 Elite LTT's (the base model guns we start with before LTT customizations are added). What's the difference? Beretta Factory 92 Elite LTT's DO NOT have the trigger job, optimized performance trigger bar or LOW RDO. We are excited to be able to customize these guns and price them more competitively.

Would Langdon take your gun and bring it up to snuff?

He'd fix and upgrade it for a fee, but a lot like the Wilson Combat Berettas, anything not worked on by Wilson Combat runs under the Beretta warranty.

The PSA guns come from Beretta and do not have LTT trigger jobs. I was going to get one though I held back due to this. After the PSA price seemed to go to be true at $750, I called LTT and they confirmed this.

This is actually how the LTTs first launched. There was a retail SKU sold through some major distributors. I sold a bunch of them on here and sourced and added the LTT trigger job in a bag to some of them. LTT also offered the guns at the same time like they do now.

I have a factory LTT that I traded into, and installed Langdon's "trigger job in a bag" myself. At current prices, I think this is the best option if you can do the work yourself (it's not hard) and don't need an optics cut.

But then I got a red dot slide as payment in kind for a favor I did for the same friend I traded with earlier. I put a Holosun Competition sight on it - huge window.

Interstingly my mostly stock M9A3 is damn near as good as the LTT with trigger job. I added the LTT trigger bar to reduce overtravel and left everything else stock, even the mainspring.

Yep and a hard pass from me as well on the PSA sham.

What's a shame about PSA on this? The LTT Elite is a legitimate Beretta release just like the old Elite 1A and Elite II that Ernest Langdon worked with Beretta on in the 90's. There's nothing specified that he did any work to them and his website confirms that if you buy one from him that has custom work, this was the base gun that's worked on.

I think except for the grips and sights these are 'just' 92s with all Beretta factory parts inside, right? Very odd a brand new Beretta would have hammer follow. I have 2 made in TN 92s (not LTT models) and they are as good as anything that came out of MD.

Yes, just as they were when the LTT guns came out. I think people are spoiled by the proliferation of better Beretta factory configurations and Langdon more mass producing the customized guns.

The base (non customized) LTT was an amazing factory configuration at the time since it came with the G conversion, inox barrel, extended magazine release, dovetailed front sight, front cocking serrations, better grips, etc.

PSA selling these guns for $750 is no "sham."

The hammer follow issue is disappointing, though.
