addicted to trailing-throttle oversteer |
Link to original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNYcviXK4rg Now that the humor is out of the way... DA/SA I'd choose a P-07 Gen 2 if size is the most important comparison factor. No Gen 1 and their frame problems. DA trigger isn't the best but that's what Cajun Gun Works is for. If the ease of use of the trigger is key, right out of the box I'd choose the SP2022 over any other DA/SA SIG or Beretta, but for carry it's noticeably larger than a G19 in all directions. To me and my body size it's the proverbial non-starter when it comes to conceal carry. No aftermarket shop can make it as carry-friendly as the compact Glorp is for me.

Yes, they are able to fit 15rds in a magazine that other manufacturers are only able to fit 12-13 rounds. Exactly the reason S&W finally came out with the M&P 2.0 Compact 4.0 9MM, to mimic the G19.

And the SIG Pro is noticeably larger than the G19.

Put me in the Walther P99AS camp as well. The Sig Pro would be my second choice followed closely by HK P2000. I have the first two and have shot the last. All are great, the lighter DA of the Walther plus the ergonomics win it over for me. I've never shot the PX4, but maybe I should...

Bruce Are you guys working again on the Sig Pro. Just picked up a NIB to carry off-duty . Carry a 226 on duty, but really like the Pro off. thanks Officer Dave

As mentioned before, I'd go with the P228 followed by the Beretta 92 Compact. Not really in the same class as the G19 but I shoot both of those better when I practice and am used to the DA first shot. My biggest issue is switching from Glock to DA/SA anything. It takes too much practice to maintain DA accuracy on first shot with the amount of time I have for practice. For now, I just stick with G19.

Indeed, there are as many opinions/experiences as there are members...my experience dictates that it is the HK2000 that is the da/SA variant to the G19, and the CZ 07 is a very close 2nd.

Very fond of the HK USPc, P2000, and P30 in this size. I know the P30 it's longer in the grip but it handles so well. Very much like a Glock 19x.

If I was looking for a DA/SA the size of a Glock 19 it would be the HK P2000. Very close but you do lose two rounds. I went a bit different way and bought an HK P30SK LEM and usually carry it with the 13 round magazine and it is the same height as the Glock 19 and P2000.

Was my post deleted? I put up a link to a P-F discussion of the PX4C I thought might be useful to the OP and it's not on this thread anymore.

That wound up being an add-on benefit for me rather than a criteria point. It was like a bonus for picking the gun that I wound up shooting the best that it concealed so well that I could hide it under just about anything I wear. I wouldn't and couldn't fault someone for that being a sticking point. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

CZ PCR, all except weight and one round. Walther P99AS, if looking for extremely similar weight, and don't mind giving up the "classic" aspect of G19 and CZ.

Still finding my way |
The CZ PCR (and P01 if you want a rail) carry very similar to a G19. I have both and with G10's the CZ is actually quite a bit thinner. A CZ P07 is a closer comparison due to the polymer frames. Dimensionally they are slightly wider than a G19 in the slide where the decocker lever is and they also sport an abbreviated beavertail making them just a bit longer but everywhere else is a wash.

Like the post above. With a set of G10s and flush magazines the CZ P01 feels extremely svelte. I actually marvel at how small it really is in practice. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

Lots of good choices. I'd vote for the HK USPc or HK P2000. They have slightly shorter grips than my other favorites such as the CZ-P01, CZ-P07 and Walther P99. This is especially true when using flat/flush magazine floor plates. The USPc and P2000 are also a little lighter than the CZs. They're all great shooting, reliable guns, and I like them all better than the G19 overall, but for me the strong point of the G19 is how concealable it is for a gun of its capacity. The relatively short grip contributes to that, at least for me. The P99 has the capacity but its grip length is closer to a G17. 十人十色

Quit staring at my wife's Butt |
After having a 19 I couldn't imagine going back to a da/sa I looked at a 228 the other day and it felt like a relic with the hammer sticking out of the back, Kind of surprised me. The sp2022 better known as the poor mans 226 would be the pretty close. imo.

Right now I'm running a PX4C with LTT upgrades. It fits the G19 role very well, though I really miss the extra 3/4" or so of sight radius. I'd be strongly considering the PX4C or the CZ for this role. Despite the "compact" designation, IMO the P229/P2022 are closer to G17 size/wt.
