I have an Icarus ACE Evo for my pistol now and love it but while perusing the Icarus website, I noticed they have a closeout section and found a P365 Version 1 AIR Polymer grip module on sale for only $30. I figured for that price I would get one and see how it compares to the ACE Evo I have.

Does anyone have one on their pistol now and if so, how do you like it? I will post back with my results as well but wanted to share the deal they are having now. Mind you they don't have a right hand version,(which I think has to do with the thumb rest for the support hand). I opted for the "no thumb rest", hoping it will fit other holster I have.

Icarus Precision Macro AIR polymer grip module

I have one that I bought from a member here a while back just to see what it’s all about. Have not shot the gun with it. Just from handling, this is what I found.

1. The texture is very aggressive, even more so than the Glock RTF2’s. Definitely don’t want it to rub against your skin/clothing if carrying IWB.

2. It is a bit slimmer (and flat, sraight up and down on the sides) than the factory original module, which has more of a subtle palm swell that I like. Also, you have no choices on different back straps. So, if you have hand that prefers the large back insert on the factory module, you’re SOL.

3. The integral mag well funnel is a nice touch, as is the left thumb rest.

4. The high rear undercut trigger guard is unnecessary in such a full size grip. For a compact grip, sure, but a full size, no, imo.

The Macro AIR polymer module is on sale for $60 on their website, from a regular price of $$130.

Thanks 12131. I didn't even realize they had a version 2. Do you have the version 1 grip module or the version 2? I was trying to see what the difference was. For $30 bucks I figured I would give it a try.

I don’t know anything about version 1 or 2. You must be talking about the module for the original/standard P365.

What I have is this AIR Polymer XMACRO Grip Module currently on their website and on sale.

Took some pics to show you.

Looking at each straight on at the back, you can see the flatness of the Icarus and the slight bulge of the factory module.

The high undercut rear of the trigger guard of the Icarus

The deeper web space plus the slightly slimmer back of the Icarus

All the above contribute to making the Icarus smaller than the factory one. If you have big hands/long fingers, I think it's going to feel unnatural for you. Even my in average sized hand, it feels funny. I prefer the factory module with the large back insert.

Oh yeah, those sharp spikes!

If you look under the "Dominant Hand" option, the right handed version is sold out. You can still choose the left handed version, (I assume the thumb rest would be on the right side of the grip module) or the "no thumb ledge" version,(which is the one I ordered), they are still in stock.

Thanks again 12131 for the pics. I guess a little sandpaper will be coming in handy to soften the texture. I don't understand who they make these textures for with the sharp edges. It reminds me of the Hogue Piranha grips I got on a trade years ago.

From their website, Icarus made a version 1 Air grip module and the version 2-the one you have. While they are identical, the 2 is the updated/strengthened module. From what I found out about the version 1 and 2, is that the version 1 rail area is not as rigid as the version 2, which can cause some vibration if you mount a light onto it of which, I won't be doing. I also didn't realize I would need another magazine release and will have to get an extended version due to the XMacro's grip, if I am reading it right, in order to make easier/quicker magazine changes.

I got it yesterday and put the parts into it minus the magazine release as I ordered an extended version and am waiting for it's arrival. Overall I really like the grip itself and feels comfortable in the hand. The texture is not bad but I agree with others, that against the skin, it can get irritating/abrasive.

I can see that this version 1/generation 1 grip module, has a little more flex on the rail section but I don't plan on putting a light on it anyway. It's not as bad as the first gen FN FNX frame with it's squishy grip and this is much firmer. All in all it fits like a glove.
