Depends if it's a fun gun/competition gun or a daily driver. No one drives a race car every day.

I think that systems that use plates aren't the brightest, either. At least it gives the forums the chance to argue about which flawed system is the least flawed.

Plates are required if you want an RMR on a 1911/2011 slide because it's too narrow otherwise, and full size guns deserves a full size optic.

As far as "2011" goes, Staccato has dibs on that name (and try taking some fire control parts out of your Staccato and try them in your 1911 or vice versa). I don't call all polymer frame striker-fired pistols Glocks, either.

Because Glock internals are different from M&P internals which are different than Walther internals. If you have a double stack 1911 that uses 1911 slides and ignition parts have have this for a frame:

It's a 2011 style gun unless only Colt can make an AR-15 or 1911.

Anybody got one of these yet? I keep coming back to it but wind up spending my money on other things.

Not yet. Only the 9mm and 10mm are out. I'm waiting for either a used 45 2K11 or a Warrior in 45 before I dip in.

I'm 250 rounds into the 9mm I recently purchased; Magtech 115 and 124 grain steel cased, some Federal 9BPLE, and a few handloads with Speer Gold Dots. No problems with reliability, as accurate as my Staccato, and nice fit and finish. Haven't messed with or decided on an optic yet. Very pleased so far.

Thank you Mesabi. I do believe I’m gonna snag a 10mm version

Well guys, this mat be a shocker to yall...

Kimber STILL HAS QC ISSUES.

In the last year I've bought 3 new Kimbers.
Kds9c, Cds9 and the DS WARRIOR 10MM 5".

The Kds9c had the worst machining on the interior of the slide that I've ever seen. CS told me that it was "in spec" and refused repair. I had to contact the COO to get satisfaction. They sent me a complete new top end.

The Cds is darn good, but the FDE finish is wearing off.

I just got the DS WARRIOR. When I field stripped it, it had similar lack of finish machining. Actual chatter marks from cutting the locking lugs.

38 Super models are starting to hit GunBroker at around the $1,100 range. Still no sign of the 45 models, but the 2K11 45s with the alloy grip are going as low as $1,600.

Both the Kimber Warrior and 2K11 are on Honest Outlaws best at price point 2011 pistols.

I have not made up my mind yet but if I do buy a 2011 type pistol I am leaning to going for the 2K11 at the point in time.
