I passed on this deal. After reading everyone's comments, I returned to my LGS and reexamined the Cougar. Considering its oval-shaped magazine release button, the pistol could be over twenty years old. It was clean, but the thought of replacing springs and rehabilitating the gun for self defense purposes was a negative. I'm not a big fan of the .40, either. I'm back to shopping for a compact 92X Beretta. It will cost twice as much as the used Cougar, but I trust Beretta's 90 series pistols.

Why not modify the title to say cougar?
