Springfield Armory Sweepstakes SA35 - Good luck or scam? Login/Join

Dear Braintrust,
Because I have great faith in the wisdom of this group...
I never win anything, but just opened an email marked "SA-35 Teaser Giveaway Winner". If real, it was from me putting in my email address to open the early, pre-release ad on the SA-35.
It asks for my name, address, and the completion of a release form (I promise not to sue if I go crazy with this thing) AND to complete a W-9, which obviously requires one's social security number. (If this is real, that would be appropriate as it is "income" over $600.)
When I called the number from the email, it was indeed answered as "Springfield Marketing, this is Lisa" -- corresponding to the name from the email. She understood my concern re a scam, and invited me to call Springfield's main number and ask for Marketing. I will do that tomorrow.
So has anyone else gotten one of these or another Springfield "sweepstakes" winnings? I think I remember reading they have done these before.
I'd love an SA-35, but I would hate dealing with identity theft.
Any input appreciated.
TIA,
Scott

"Hello Customer,

Kindly please do get back to me urgently if you are still alive and not dead? It is very necessary because your name has been Re published again in the Nigerian Newspaper today and your Payment is ready for Pick-up and I want to believe you have been contacted by John G. Roberts, Jr., Chief Justice of the United States.

Yours in service,
Dr. Kingsley Moghalu"

I'm a jackass, sorry.
Maybe this will help:

Thanks very much for that link. Damn this is a great board.
So only one winner?
I got the same email as today's on 11/24, and didn't notice it.
Interesting...

Congrats to ScotP7!

RichardC;
Your favorite reminds me of a time about 13 years ago. I went to a meeting and sat next to my manager (the CIO). Before the meeting started, I leaned over towards him and advised him that I would be tendering my resignation the next day. In total shock, he asked me why. I told him that I had a ton of offers from folks in Nigeria promising me millions of dollars to help them transfer funds AND lots of folks in Canada wanting to sell me Viagra at a greatly discounted price. "Hell, I'll have it made and don't need to work!"
He got the hint and the email scam filters went up that night.

Thanks all for the good information and congratulations.
Thought I'd just pass on an update given all of the very nice well wishes.
Well, sure was legit -- or awfully damn clever. Called the main number for Springfield, went through their company directory by spelling out her name, and bingo it came right up. (Now for some reason there was a transfer through an international operator involved, but I'm sure that was ok...)
But... Since I live in the great state of Maryland, the SA-35 is not yet on the approved "Handgun Roster" yet. Usually takes about 3-6 months. But at least the marketing person kindly said they'd just wait a bit. (Very nice.)
Unfortunately, MD is a 10 round state (can possess standard capacity mags but can't buy / take possession of new ones in state). I offered alternatives, and she was very agreeable, but said in such instances they have to consult with "Legal". Uh oh. In my experience, attorneys reflexively say no before hello. We shall see!
Thanks again for replies.
