Thank you, Sigfreund! Lots of great info in this thread and I appreciate all of it! I have a DAK parts kit on the way.

I once owned a P239 DA/SA and and sent it to SIG for a DAK conversion and liked it very much. I'm a fan of one kind of trigger pull and have gradually eliminated all DA/SA guns from my collection.

Anyone have a good link for a video on how to do the conversion?

Disassemble the DA/SA model as described in various videos, then assemble with the DAK parts.

There is of course no need for the decocker assembly. I have, however, found that if the sear assembly and hammer are installed first as is usually shown in videos about DA/SA models, it can be very tricky to install the DAK trigger and trigger bar. I therefore adopted the practice of putting the trigger and trigger bar in before the sear and hammer assemblies. That will then require a bit of juggling to keep everything in place during the process, but doable.

I just realized the DAK parts set I bought doesn’t have a sear. I’m going to put a WTB in classifieds for one. I tried to find one but no luck. If anyone knows a place I can get one please let me know.

^^^ The same set from fleabay that you showed me? Seller forgot to include it? Because the pic clearly showed the sear.

What sear do you have in your DA/SA model now?
If it looks like this, you do not need a different one:

Prior to the introduction of the DAK mechanism, that cut in the one side of the sear wasn’t there, but then all sears with the cut, DA/SA or DAK, were the same.

Perhaps later SIG went back to the original design for some reason, but it’s easy to check.

Q, I got a slightly different kit that doesn’t have the sear.

Sigfreud, the one in the P228 now is the SRT sear.

I missed the SRT sear.
It appears, though, that SIG still offers the standard “P” sear:

It seems that I don't need a specific DAK sear; just a newer one with the small notch cut out on the top left like the one in sigfreud's picture on page 1.

Benner shoot me an E-mail. I'll look in my parts bag tonight and see if I have one that will work for you. If I do it's yours. I have a bunch of take-offs because I've installed SRT kits in all my guns.

If you email me what you need, I'll also look through my stuff to see if I have any DAK parts left.

I have a P226 DAO and it's been one of my favorite to practice on; the DAK is a really nice option, would absolutely encourage the swap. Big Grin

If USPS is to be believed, it should be there tomorrow. Hope it gets you up and running with a DAK!
