I've wanted a CZ75 since the 1980's and so, at 60 years of age I could not resist a deal on a 2017, used SP-01 that came my way. I think some spring changes will be in order as the stock trigger leaves a little to be desired. Feels great in the hand and will get it to the range in the next couple of days. ________________________ "Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme"

Yes, factory CZ triggers apart from those on their their specialty guns like the Shadows are pretty 'meh'. I went with a 2lb lighter mainspring in my SP-01 Tactical and it does help with the DA pull. I've yet to experience any reliability issues with the gun but frankly just changing the spring alone doesn't do anything for the gritty creep that the gun has and is infamously known for. And simply shooting gobs and gobs of ammo through the gun didn't make much if any difference as others have claimed that it would. Nevertheless I do like the gun a lot and shoot it pretty well. It was the first of several CZs that I now own.

After many years of pining, I finally scratched the itch and bought a CZ-75 Omega Convertible in February, but have only had it to the range a couple times. However, I already love the thing! I just bought 1 of the 17-rd MecGar mags, and 2 of the 19-rd MecGars. Rounds load super easily, and the mags just glide into the mag well, due to the magic coating MecGar gives them. The gun shoots like a dream, with the weight of the steel frame dampening most of the felt recoil. The decocker is in the perfect spot for me, too. My stock Omega trigger is pretty good. Now I already want either a PCR or the P-01 Omega Convertible. Yep! Habit forming... I find it really weird that CZ is billed as being super accurate, with really high quality, and a premium brand and yet it still has a reputation for a crap trigger.

For me putting in a lower weight/ pound hammer spring makes it very good. The rest of the trigger internals smooth out with use just fine and I do love to shoot.

I picked up my first CZ in July. It was a Shadow 2. Then I had to have another and I found a CZ 97b. Both are great pistols! _________________________ Einstein defines insanity as "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

PO1. Doesn't get much better. Didn't stop me from getting an SP01, PCR, 75BD, etc though.

I've loved other peoples CZs I've shot. Mine (RAMI) was a complete failure. Won't shoot more than twenty rounds without a jam. Just got it back, they polished feed ramp (reprofiled it too it looks like), polished breach face, and did something to extractor. I plan on doing 200-250 round test to make sure they actually fixed it, then I'm selling it. Look for the WTS ad in a couple of months. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Congrats on your new CZ. I have a CZ SP01 and really like it and think it is a good value but don't see myself buying any more CZs as I like other pistols better. We live in good times with so many choices in firearms these days.

CZ's are addictive for sure, I'm more of a rifle/carbine guy and when the EVO was introduced I was an early adopter ... And SBR-er, then the Bren came out out and again, head of the line and SBR'd ... Then I happened to be at a favorite shop and the owner who is preparing to retire brought out an early (2005)Tactical Sport that he ordered and was never picked up and to say it feels amazing is a horiable understatement ... About 2 weeks latter I came back with some cash and trading fodder and it came home with me. Not that it's a horiable problem but it was in 40 S&W ... After a bit of research I found I could fit the 9mm barrel to it and I was really in love and have both caliber's. Then I found myself perusing CZ's on GunBroker and found a lightly used factory CZ75B SA ... and it too has a new home, it does shoot well but needs a trigger job. I need to checkout CGW for some drop in parts or see if they can just clean mine up. I joined CZ clubs and started hearing about these SP01's and the venerable Shadow2 ... Which I found both at another local Fun Shop ... after handling them both I decided the SP01 will have to wait for another day and brought home the Shadow2. If you really want something you'll find a way ... ... if you don't you'll find an excuse. I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either

Let me know. I shot a Rami this past weekend at the range and fell in love. The guy did the pierce mod adding a XD baseplate to get a full 3 finger grip.

I think most people complain about the DA over the SA pull. I'm beginning the think trigger crispness equaling accuracy is a semi myth like low bore axis reducing recoil. While I'm sure they both make some small difference, most people aren't going to notice. Out of all the guns I've shot, XDs and CZs are the two I am most accurate with and they both had squishy triggers. I shoot them better than Sigs, HKs, which all have 'better' triggers.

Habit forming you say ? Ummm Yup! I am up to a seven count on em so far and would still like to get a few more. Folks always bring up the trigger. Could they be better ? Sure. I think that a big part of why I like them so much though is just how great they feel in hand and with this in mind I decided to really try and learn to shoot the DA/SA format better. So for the past year or so I have really practiced with it ALOT. Just started shooting some IDPA matches at a local range and last week came in third overall out of 18 other shooters. So for me I shoot the "crappy" trigger far better than I used to. The real gem for me right now is my CZ Phantom. Basically a SP01 with a milled slide and poly lower to help save some weight. You do not hear much about them outside the CZ only forums but I really do love mine ! Anyway congrats Gambit on your first CZ ! But what took you so long ?
