Last week Pedropcola put me on to some good deals on Ebay for these Safariland ALS holsters. I don't own an HK USP, but they came with some QLS gear that I needed, and it was way cheaper than buying those parts separately, so I took what I needed and figured I'd offer up the like-new ALS holster and paddle here to somebody who can use it. Holster, paddle, and screws are all included...I may have to disassemble them for shipping, though.

Karma rules:

1. Must have been a member prior to today.

2. Must actually own a gun that this holster will work with (post a picture if you'd like...we all enjoy gun porn).

3. Give me at least one reason why modern (not talking about the P7...I'd love one of those but will never be able to afford one) HK handguns aren't just overrated overpriced plastic pistols, and why I ought to add one to the stable someday. I've always wanted one...just been underwhelmed by every one that I've actually shot.

I'll let this run until sometime next week and then pick a winner.

DO NOT add me to this karma but I have a couple reasons to buy a HK plastic gun.

LEM is a fantastic idea that doesn't work (for me) in all platforms. I think the USP line is the most overrated non ergonomic gun line among the big guys. I have multiples of the USPc line, the Expert, the Combat Competition, and they all suffer from the same thing. They have the rough dimensions and feel of a 2x4.

Enter the P2000 and P30. These two, especially the P30, are ergonomic wonders. Few guns when picked up just seem to instantly fit my hand. The CZ75 is one of them and I think the P30 is actually better.

The LEM trigger has all the attributes of basically a SAO gun with the benefits of the "safety" of a long DA first pull. Except it is nothing like a DA first pull. I won't appendix carry a striker unless it has a manual safety. It isn't my thing, I am not comfortable in that scenario. Many are and more power to them but I am in the NO camp. LEM is genius. You can ride the hammer during reholster to ensure there is nothing in your holster that could move the trigger.

During actual shooting the LEM basically feels like a pretty good SAO trigger. Not 1911 good but pretty good.

Full disclosure it also has a wickedly curved trigger and long reset but I changed those out with Grayguns parts and this gun is so good I am considering parting ways with a bunch of my stuff that I can't shoot as well as the P30.

The P30 with a few mods is the gun that I have been looking for. Something that if I concentrate I can make clover leaf patterns and if I go at speed I make slightly bigger clove leafs. Due to the nature of LEM it also makes my one handed strong and support hand shooting way better. I never was good at DA one handed shooting. Even with trigger jobs I still moved too much for my taste. The LEM (V1 light LEM) has eliminated that completely.

P30 V1 light LEM. Plan on the GG flat steel trigger as a necessity. The short reset kit if that is your thing. I also added the short slide release because the stock tended to be too long and I rode it on occasion. Best carry/duty/HD handgun in my safe. That is a high bar.

Please include me- I have a USP Compact 9mm. Will add a pic later (at work right now). USP's although not great in the trigger department (I have the SA/DA with safety version - don't know what it's called) are tough reliable weapons. I actually find that I shoot it better than many other guns I own- it just feels right in my hands and is dead on accurate. Don't carry it too often as it is a bit chunky but has been a nightstand gun on and off for years.

Here it is just above my P228 - Sorry pic is so grainy -it's a crop from a larger photo

Pedropcola, thanks for the breakdown. From reading your posts in the past, you and I tend to have pretty similar likes and dislikes when it comes to handguns, and similar considerations when it comes to carrying them. I have handled the P30, and I agree that it fits the hand like a glove. The P2000 isn't quite as perfect, but its not bad either. The triggers on the ones I've shot were mushy and horrible, which is what turned me off to the guns...but they were both non-LEM. I've never shot the LEM trigger, so now you've given me something else I need to try...

Alyron, good points as well....there's no denying that they make a reliable, accurate handgun.

I'm not in for the karma; I just like how you think - buying something for the parts and it's a cheaper price. Nice going.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Please don't add me. But...

Anyone know where I can find a good holster for a USP45 Tactical? Preferences is a semi drop leg and get it in a Flectarn camo.

Please count me in and thank you for the opportunity. I have a P30sk, P30 and a VP9. As mentioned above, the ergonomics are fantastic on all three. Having the interchangeable side panels and backstraps really allows you to customize a fit to your hand. I have the VP9 set up for my wife who is considerably smaller than I am and she loves the gun. She declared she was keeping it after the first trip to the range and she “might” let me shoot it again. The P30sk is a very soft shooter and conceals well despite being on the thicker side.

I highly recommend you add one to the collection.

I'd better have one or I should give up my username. Please allow me to be included.

I've had nothing but reliability and accuracy from the 6 HK's we've owned. The VP9 is one of the best striker pistols I've shot based on accuracy and reliability. The USPc is dated, but built solid and will likely last through my grandkids. The P30 family with LEM is super ergonomic. I guess I like them all.

Still not in for the karma but I wanted to add one more thing. As pictured this has a paddle. If you swap out a belt slide this thing makes a great carry holster also. It rides nice and snug against your side and has hole positions for a lot of options. It is nearly as tight against your body as leather but with way better retention.
