Anyone else see this?

I want someone to come out with an aluminum grip module, with grip inserts like the classic P series.

I like it, especially the undercutting. It was only a matter of time before the aftermarket caught up. Wonder if there will be more than just a compact frame and what pricing will be.

If people would mind their own damn business this country would be better off. I owe no one an explanation or an apology for my personal opinion.

At this point, it looks like vaporware. Give them your e-mail and you'll "receive the latest product information from Old City Arms."

Seen this M.O. before. Sometimes they just use it to gauge the market for the proposed product before they decide to actually produce something.

Anybody else know anything substantive?

Yeah, a polymer mold is a bit more pricey and involved than just setting up an aluminum CNC jig.

For myself, I want to see the larger grip frames without a rail.

Nipper, you are probably right. And to me it looks like it has been 3D printed.

But I'm excited at the idea of the aftermarket making different grip modules.

I think I posted this awhile ago on another non-OEM Grip Frame Module thread. IIRC, never got a response.

Question relates to patents. Is the GFM patented and therefor precludes copying? However, in many cases, ways around patents can be used. If it a patent issue, Sig ain't gonna give it up. They could always license it to a third-party though.

In other words, are we waiting for a ship that's not gonna come in?

Another small voice of support.
I hope this develops in to some real products.

Glad our grip is getting some notoriety. If by vaporware you mean "a product that isn't complete", then yes it's vaporware. It's a functional prototype that has been stress tested and is being used for marketing purposes while we finish tooling our injection mold.

We've refrained from opening pre-sales because we don't want to play with customer dollars until we can back it up. The primary difference between the grip in this image and our final product is that we're adding a granular texturing (similar to that on the factory grip) to the sides and backstrap.

Would love to hear your feedback on features you like/don't like. For this model, we're fairly locked into the design portrayed here. That said, we have plans for future designs and want to produce the best grip possible.

Although I like that you've changed the angle of the "thumb shelf" how about eliminating it all together? Instead of a ridge, how about a smooth transition?

Aggressive texturing all the way up the grip please.
I love the grip Texture/coverage like what is on the S&W M&P 2.0
I love my 320's, but I have been carrying my 2.0 for duty and love the texturing.
Look forward to seeing the final product and if there will be options?

Aren't there supposedly changes made to factory grip modules as part the 'upgrade' program? I seem to recall reading postings about this.

We have confirmation from Sig that the upgrade does not impact the grip module in any way. Wherever you hear about necessary "frame cuts", they're referring to the frame of the FCU not the grip module.

To whoever asked about options: multiple colors will be available once we start taking pre-orders. Multiple designs will come later but for now we're just doing
one.

There's a pic on our website that portrays the surface area that'll be covered with granular texturing similar to the factory grip module. Green design render halfway down the page, everywhere in red will be textured.

Will you be offering grip modules with the manual safety cutout?

Manual safety cutout falls under "yes, eventually". We haven't assessed in-depth, but if the design accommodates it we may do post-production machining to create the cutout for those who want it.

Will it come in multiple sizes e.g. small, medium, and large?

Multiple sizes are also an "eventually" goal. Assuming this model is successful, we'll likely go all-in on a version with interchange backstraps and release for full/subcompact/etc.

I would just settle for any metal grip module.. Not a fan of Polymer..
