Might want to make a more descriptive title but this might push me into a P07. Smile

I really wanted to like my P07, but I got one where the trigger doesn’t reset when dry firing in DA. Unfortunately, I bought it preowned in a private sale so warranty doesn’t apply. I need to buy some parts and just strip it and swap out with some new factory parts until like fix the issue. It’s probably the trigger disconnector.

Strip it and give it a good polish and throw in a McCarbo kit while you're in there. It'll make a night and day difference, and likely fix your problem at the same time.

I like the optics ready aspect of the new model, and the grip texture looks like an improvement. Not sure if I'm sold on the front serrations, or how they wrap around the top of the slide. I wish they'd done away with the giant squared off trigger guard...it just looks goofy and is my least favorite feature of these guns.

It also looks like they've renamed the P07 the P09C. I guess it kinda makes sense since it's just the smaller variant of the same platform.

LOL. These marketing people are really something.

The P-07 and P-09 are my favorites in the CZ line. The downside to the P-09 and P-09C (P-07) Nocturn models, is that though optic ready, they only support the Shield and Holosun K footprints, No RMR or Delta Point Pro capability on these newer guns.

I used to work for Vulcan Machinewerks, and we did RMR cuts on P-07's and P-09's regularly, (I assume they still do). Although it required a deletion of the rear sight, though I believe a dovetail could and was cut forward of the optic, with an aftermarket rear sight, probably a Trijicon Glock sight installed.

I would like it if CZ came out with non optic ready versions of these newer guns, but manufacturing costs being what they are, I doubt it will happen.

LOL. These marketing people are really something.

But it has intuitive controls. That alone makes ALL the difference in the known and dare I say even the unknown universe. Their marketing mules therefore had little choice but to wax poetic. Big Grin

This was brought up in James Reeve's overview while he interviewed one of the product developers at CZ UB HQ. With their current rear sight, they could not do a direct mount RMR or DPP and keep their rear sight dovetail, so they decided to direct mount RMSc so they could stay away from plates and ship with their suppressor height sights instead of buying/making a bunch of Glock sights and change up their supply chain.

While I haven't fondled the updated guns, but does anyone make steel slide stop and safety/decocker levers for this gun? Both of them seemed very filmsy and I'd worry about breaking one.

About half way down in the link it states they are DPP compatible. Maybe Reeve's video was made during the prototype stage? I bet the Romeo X enclosed would be a good match for this gun.

I’ve got a Langdon PX4 compact that is as close to the perfect gun for me as I’ve found but this new 09 sure has my interest for a 2nd choice. I really like to 07 and have owned a couple but never owned an 09, this may sway me to try one

A good reminder that at least a few of the videos are of the prototype. The link mentioned shows a larger number of available optics, including the Leupold Delta Point Pro.

As I said the P-07 and the P-09 are my favorite guns in the CZ line, and the availability, according to the website, of larger "duty" optics for the P-09F and P-09C definitely have my interest peaked.

The danger in shooting CZs is that they are highly addictive. I bought a 75D-PCR with a CZ Custom trigger job. That led to an 83 in 380, An SP-01 Phantom, a P-10S for DW and last month a P-07. My 228 hasn't been to the range in years.

I can't get the CZ UB page to load for me. However, the CZ USA page works and only lists the microdots:

I realize it's not the convenient factory option, but DPCustoms cut my son's P09 slide for a 407C/RMR, added a dovetail for a glock-style sight behind the optic, and refinished the whole thing in melonite for $150. Took less than 8 weeks.

The factory rear sight was improperly fit and I could push it out with my finger (good job on that one, CZ!) so I was going to have to do something about it anyway, so this was a beautiful solution.

All said and done, though, I think I actually like the 407K better, anyway. My son likes the bigger window of the C, but I don't find it to be much of a difference, and the K has a clearer dot and doesn't overhang the sides of the slide.

If I end up getting the P07 (or P09C) that shooting his gun is tempting me to buy, I'd probably opt for the 407K anyway. Just not sure I can live with those top-strap front serrations...you could just about grind a bevel in the sides and use it as a pic-rail!

You too! I've been here a lot longer than there, but it appears that's the same for you as well Smile.

Lots of interest in the P07/P09 everywhere lately, which is great because as I've recently discovered, it's a very underappreciated platform. My son and I just got back from the range where we burned through a couple of hundred rounds shooting drills on steel. I've gotta admit, that P09 is one flat shooting handgun...it may even have the edge on the P226 getting back on target when I'm shooting on the move. The more I shoot it the more I like it. Which is bad, because my gun and ammo budget doesn't need another platform to support!

Thanks for the tip on DPCustoms. I bought a P09 last year when they were closing them out for $300. I sent it to czcustomshop for some trigger work. It's my smoothest shooting da/sa gun.

I don't suppose CZ has reduced the trigger reach (a la Walther PDP-F reach)??? I tried the. P-07/P-09 and the reach seemed enormous.
