Smith & Wesson 4506

I think I lost some gas mileage due to all the extra weight.

Not LEO, the P-226. Thousands and thousands of rounds. My favorite pistol, even more than a 1911. Then, we went to Glock 19s, works great just feels like it lost that lovin feeling. Cool

Need to get one again, just as a BBQ gun.

HK USP .40 stainless was the first gun I purchased and carried for my original "buy your own" department.

My first issued pistol was a 4006.

Hater of fun since 2001!

-Started with a Glock 23 from the Sheriffs and the part time PD in 2008. Sheriffs switched to a S&W M&P 45 in 2013.

-Went to a 40S&W P226 DAK in 2014 with a new agency. Changed to 9mm P320 in 2016 for a little over a year. Department then switched to Glock 17 gen5 in 2017. Replaced with 17 MOS gen5 in 2021. In the past month replaced all the gen5 17’s with 47’s carrying Trijicon SRO’s.

I was able to buyback almost all of my old issued guns. Made sure I have enough so that each kid can get one passed down to them.

Glock 22 Gen 4. Tried and proven. Caliber is not so popular now, but it still works and when we transitioned to Glock 45's, I got the option to buy it for less than $300 and they threw in a couple of boxes of ammo and three magazines. An easy sale. It has become the "family" gun. It doesn't get shot alot, anymore, but it has a spot in my heart.

This old guy got pulled out of the jail and now is back pushing a squad car.

Started with P 220

then a S&W 4006 TSW (.40)

Back to the P 220

P 320 in 2015. We had to gather up that issue to trade in for new upgraded ones, but we were offered the opportunity to buy those first issued at a good price instead of returning them. Bought mine.

2016 new issue P 320. That one ended up engraved by the agency with my name and rank, dates of service and the agency badge when I retired.

Back to the trusted P 220 when I got drafted to Patrol.

On the last qual I also qualled wth the Ruger RXM my wife gave me as a birthday present. Post cataract surgery, I'm considering going to a RDS and it would be simpler to use the RXM platform to mount one.

I had to carry what Uncle Sam gave me, so I started with an M1911A1, then finished with the Beretta 92FS. I retired before the P320 was adopted.

In the Navy, only occasionally carried a 1911 when in port and assigned the quarterdeck guard. Then as an instructor at Navy Crypto School, a S&W 38 special on guard duty. Later, on Oakland PD, we had to buy our own 38/357 revolver, and I had a Colt Python. We were severely outgunned by the bad guys. When I quit the department to run a company I'd started, that was making more money than me, I carried a Browning High Power as a civilian. Old and retired, it's a P229 in 40 S&W.
