I've heard this, but the one time I tried it, the pistol came out heavily coated in rust. I had to start from scratch with soapy water and an intense amount of scrubbing. I have no idea why it didn't work for me.

| I’ve for years only used Thompson Contender’s No. 13 natural cleaning solution with very hot water and Thompson’s bore butter for cleaning/lube. My barrel is well seasoned after all this time and shots accurately and is very easy to clean. There are a lot of options out there but I approached mine like a Dutch oven and after 17 years, I’m still going strong without problems.
