The FN1922 never really caught my eye until I read the AR Magazine's May 2023 issue.

According to the article, the Model 1922 was made all the way up until 1983. That's pretty amazing IMO! Personally, I can't recall having seen any new ones here in the late 60s and through the 70s so was wondering if the GCA of 1968 put the ax to them? Now, there was a smaller Model 1955 which seems to be an "updated" version of the Model 1910. It definitely became non-importable due to the 1968 GCA.

The article also mentions that total of 500,00 Model 1922s were made in peacetime, while about 448,000 were made under German occupation during WW II. That's a lot considering the latter production only lasted 5 years.

Hope you found this interesting!

I think they were modified by having longer barrels, adjustable sights, and grips with a thumbrest to comply with the requirements of the 1968 GCA.
Search for Browning 10 71.
