I saw today a nice used P229 but the serial number and its manufactured date is alluding.
The serial number is AK 17 490 . It’s on the frame just like that with those spaces in the numbers. Anyone got an idea ?
I tried using the list above but couldn’t find anything.
Thanks in advance.

There is one similar on the list that shows a date of March of 2000.

Best way to know for sure is to see if it has the original grips and if they have a time stamp wheel embossed on the inside of each panel.

Thanks for the reply. It only has one mag with it but the price is $250.00 and the finish is probably 98% . 40 cal though. ☹️

Nice!

With getting a deal like that, it leaves plenty of room for a conversion barrel or a caliber swap.

I may be very biased to the 229 in my collection of shooters but ... ...

Buy that one pronto!!!!

You will be glad you did.
Such a minimal investment allows
as said above many options for you to enjoy
it being whatever you can utilize the most.

Too many SIGs .. ... Nah not really

$250 all in ?!

I have (2) 229. An older mid later 90’s one and a newer rail version.

Get. 357 sig barrel for it when you can.

Congrats.

I’m out of town until Saturday but when I’m back I’ll post a pic if I can figure it out on this forum.
