I don’t think it’s appropriate to log in a pistol unless submitted by the owner.
I have recorded over 20 early p220‘s that have appeared on the web that I do not list for the same reason.

I've had this for a while but might as well add it to the info pool.

P229r Elite ser# AFU07947, nitride legacy slide, black alloy frame, Sig Sauer stamped on the left front of the slide, P229 Elite stamped on the right front of the slide, caliber is only stamped on the barrel hood (9mm), serial number and Sig Sauer INC. EXETER-NH-USA stamped on the right side of the frame, the front strap is checkered, came with standard grips, night sights, and the short trigger.

I installed a standard trigger and a set of E2 grips.

55EO59H2 picked up two with consecutive numbers.

Been a long time since I've been here, hope all's well with everyone.

To bring to bear my issue, I have a P226 that I purchased at Blackwater many years ago, and I want to learn as much as I can about it. I called SIG this morning and spoke to a nice gentleman (Bradshaw) but unfortunately he told me that he has no information at all on my gun because it was purchased so long ago. I am here to see if anyone has a similar serial number and might be of assistance. The provenance of this gun is important to me for "pass-it-down-when-I-die" purposes only. I have no interest whatsoever in selling it, and although estimated value would be interesting, it is irrelevant for my purposes.

Here is the relevant information:
SIG Sauer P226 9mm Special, model/SKU 226-9-SP, serial U621888, UPC 798681111758, matching box, "circa 1999" manufacture per SIG customer service (Bradshaw) on 7/6/2026, Blackwater-logo-marked top slide, personally purchased at Blackwater.

I've attached a few photos.

I would be most grateful for any assistance.

Edit to add: In case someone wonders, no, I cannot find the receipt so I don't have an exact date of purchase. And I admit to being a little surprised that SIG has virtually no records of, as Bradshaw put it, "a gun that old." In the age of computers, I guess I expect too much.

220C has a rail, so I stuck an Olight light/laser on it. Light came with the light bearing holster! To bad I'm to fat to wear it IWB anymore, sigh....

Seems to fall into the early 2005 SN range. It was a PD trade in, unknown department. Good shooter, especially since I added an adjustable rear sight to it!

245 seems to live up to the hype and actually shoots "softer" then the 220C with the same ammo. Sig did good!

Please recheck your P245 serial. Does not seen to fit.

I have a nickel P226, SN is U 471 006. SIG says it predates their system, so they can only tell me it's likely early 1991, but not whether it's factory nickel or refinished. Looks factory to me, but I just don't know. Any other way to chase this down?
