Do I want one in 10mm? Yes.

Are these just collector fodder? Do they offer anything over a Dam Wesson Cbob or other 125% factory run. That is, slightly better than factory runs but also not custom built.

Nine years to retirement! Just waiting!

Well, I know my TRP make me smile every time I hold it. As far as collector status, I don’t know. They do bring a premium though. I have a full rail/dust cover model in .45. Kicker is I use to have the exact same TRP in 10mm. Roll Eyes That’s one of three or so I really regret selling.

The biggest issue that might not be an issue is that 20lpi checkering is SHARP. It's almost needle sharp. I love it, but enough didn't that Springfield used to offer a service where they would blunt the points
for customers.

The Dan Wesson is a nicer gun. The TRP is still a decent 1911 but the DWs are nicer.

The TRP is infamous for this cheese grater. That’s why I could never “pull the trigger” on it, despite how nice everything else was. Every time I fondled it, I had to put it back.

^^^^ Harrison no longer does in-house custom works/builds. He only offers custom parts, now. You do your own work or have someone else do the work.

I find the front strap on my standard TRP too sharp for my sissy La La hands. I bought a square of grip material from Talon Grips. Twenty mins later problem solved.

Another complaint I have is my old eyes have a hard time picking up the front sight when shooting indoors and it shoots a little to the left. Plus I really don’t see the necessity for tritium sights. I’m thinking of calling SA to see if they offer a different sight option.

Check out 10-8 Performance. Hilton Yam has a lot of high quality replacement parts for Springfields. Otherwise, Dawson Precision is the other best place.

I’ve always felt like I had sissy/cube monkey hands but I love the checkering on them. I’ve never owned one just shot them so maybe owning over time my opinion would change.
