The Wyoming Gun Project video posted above is funny, but it's clear that his video in which he staged the trigger of a P320 and then manipulated the slide to get the striker to release, is misleading, as indicated by the video posted by Mars_Attacks on page 57 of this thread, and which I am re-posting below. The WGP video, in terms of the questions surrounding P320 UDs, proves nothing, except that this behavior is inherent in at least some striker-fired pistol designs. | |||

1) I can't help but wonder if there's a back-story here. Typically, if you work for a company and "invent" something, then that something is the property of the company you're working for. Was this design developed by an employee while working for the company ? 2) I would like to see this design analyzed/tested by qualified P320 experts. 3) Just who was it that released this "patent information" ? I'm not jumping on this bandwagon until some questions are answered. | |||

US Marshal Service has now dropped the P320 as an authorized duty weapon. I’m not sure if they were ever issued and if so how recently that was, or if they were just authorized for use as a personally owned firearm. USMS authorizes personally owned weapons. P320 no longer authorized in that capacity. I’ve been told that the order extends to TFOs as well. | |||

Apparently, the provisional patent was filed in 2023: Suffield, CT - Angled Spade Technologies, LLC (AST) today issued a public statement regarding U.S. Patent Application US20250164203A1, which details an innovative safety enhancement for the Sig Sauer® P320® platform. The patent, assigned to Angled Spade Technologies, reflects a critical advancement in firearm safety engineering and further underscores AST’s commitment to responsible innovation within the firearms industry. The concept originated during a collaborative project involving engineer Brian McDonald, who is listed as the inventor. While Mr. McDonald formerly held a position at Sig Sauer®, he has not been employed by the company for several years and has recently operated independently as a consultant across multiple organizations. I’m pretty sure I know why Sig declined. Because adding that feature requires the safety to be engaged. Negating the fact that it’s a simple striker fired, no safety, no decocker gun designed to compete with the Glock. If carrying, with the thumb safety engaged for the gun to be safe, Sig has created a striker fired 1911. | |||

I just saw a news article stating that another Air Force Airman has been arrested for the shooting and killing of another Airman that was originally blamed on a Sig UD.
