Agreed. My CCW started with a G26 close to 25 years ago now, and there have been a veritable parade of pistols since then. I've owned and shot several of the micro 9's (still own several), including P365, P365xl, Shield plus, G43 & G43x. All great pistols in their own right.....of that group I personally find the G43x & Shield plus the least unpleasant to shoot. Unpleasant may not be the right word....but they aren't pistols I would shoot more than a box of ammo through in one session either.

Recently picked up a gently used 26.5, and man is it a sweet shooter. Not much harder to hide AIWB than any of the other listed pistols, and actually shorter in grip than the G43x & Shield (with 13rd mag) even with the +2 Glock baseplates. Anyway, point is - YMMV, but for my money I'm back to the G26. Shooting them back to back, if able, is eye opening. Or at least it was for me. I'm keeping the G43 as a super deep carry option, and maybe the 43x because I do like it, but everything else will go.

Edit: realized I didn't really answer your question Z.....for me the answer is no.

IMO all these supersized micro's have screwed up the Holster market place. I purchased my P365 with the intent of using it for pocket carry. If I want to carry in a hip mounted Holster I'll get out my P239-40 or one of my 1911's. Unfortunately holsters for the P239 have been disappearing but in a pinch a 1911 non rail holster will sort of work.

I've stopped counting.

I think that has less to do w/ the increasing popularity of micro 9s and more to do w/ the P239 having been discontinued for at least five years now.

The only people looking to see who's carrying a gun are other guys legally carrying guns.

So no, eleven rounds of 9mm in a gun the size of my G42 isn't appealing when I can carry sixteen or eighteen rounds of 9mm in something I can get a full grip on instead.

Totally agree. Most people are completely CLUELESS

Yes, for the most part. My EDC's are my P365 and P938. I carry for for different activities. I still winter carry my P220 SAS because I don't have to dress around it with a jacket.

Would you two guys please share with us your experience in building a gun forum over the years and maintaining its content? Additionally, please share with us your opinions on the pros/cons of restricting discussion to one brand of firearm only, and what measures you would take to prevent gun owners from discussing all brands of gun but one.

I am eager to learn much from you, as I am new to these things. I await the benefit of your experience and wisdom.

Hi Para,

I apologize to you as it appears you think I've tried to say something about running a forum.

I said just one sentence about a web name doing a redirect to this site, not about content.

I was just thinking of how this forum has good information for any type of gun, not just SIG.

I don't think we should restrict topics to only one brand of gun here, and have been here over 20 years, this is the only place I like I'm sorry.

Still rockin the good old G27-4 everyday, although during the hotter summer days that Hellcat disappeared in an appendix IWB nicely.

It really depends on the wardrobe of the day, sometimes the Hellcat with the flush 10rd mag in an ankle holster is my only option and it does that job very well.

I'm skeptical about what seems to be the inclination to make the smallest compact pistol possible that can even remotely reasonably considered usable.

Having said that, I'm much more unlikely to purchase a single stack subcompact with all the very shootable, double stack compact pistols.

I just don't see the point.

I tried carrying a 43 shortly after they came out. While it’s a great gun I struggled carrying it appendix as I felt as though my gut at the time would push it out and print worse then a 19. There is something about the barrel length to me that helps with conceal ability particularly when going appendix. Since then it’s only been my 19 and while I’ve been tempted to look elsewhere the 48 is really the only thing that’s caught my eye. It has the barrel length I like in a slightly slimmer package and with the shield mags I have the same capacity. I just haven’t ever made the decision to make the jump as I can conceal a 19 in any clothing year round.

In short no the micro 9’s have had no effect on my choices.

While I like my G43/43X there is a special place for my G26…it just shoots better for me and conceals with 13 rounds without the king grip of the 43X.

Try though I might, I just don’t shoot Glocks well. I carry -

P226 (M11-A1
P320 XCompact
P365x (pocket carry when necessay)

- depending on external circumstances.

AFA cover garments go, Jeans, partly buttoned flannel shirt over a Tee and work boots = assumed to be carrying. Printing is irrelevant.

My two in rotation right now are the P365 and the P228. I like carrying the 365 as it really disappears and I hardly notice I'm carrying. I can conceal the 228 and I don't care about printing anymore as nobody pays attention, but I notice the 228 way more than the 365.

The 365 is way more pleasant to sit and drive in compared to the 228.

If I'm out and about on errands, it's the 365. If it's a large gathering, like church, it's the 228.

I've gone the opposite direction for Carry I find the larger guns easier to handle and shoot well than the micro subcompacts I tried earlier. Sure it's more to carry but I don't find them difficult at all. I shoot them and handle them better and that to me is what matters. You do you...

Yeah, I don't give two flying effs about printing anymore.
Guns are like tits, as long as you make the slightest effort to cover them you can be around mixed company. And in some company coverings are optional. Wink
