This is how we were taught to do it in the SIG Armorer's Class. I keep one of those thin hotel keycards in my toolkit just for this.

| I had that happen on a pistol I owned as well. I didn't know about the credit card thing until it was too late. Like the others have said, when you go to put the grip on the pistol,make sure the credit card,(rigid flat piece of whatever), covers the spring. If you don't, the spring can bind and will bend and once it does, you might as well throw it away. I had to order a few springs, as it is a good thing to have on hand when things like this happen.
Also, you have to get the newer mainspring if you have the older model,(longer spring) as it will also prevent you from pulling the trigger all the way. |
