What do you guys think of HK P7 (all variants) prices lately? Some of the recent online auctions seem staggeringly high compared to what I've seen even in just the past two years or so. Are your local offerings on par with the online stuff?

In keeping with forum rules, please refrain from posting links to live auctions and please refrain from posting with intent to sell.

The only one I ever saw locally was $3500, and that was a year or two ago...As much as I'd love one for my collection, I'd rather spend that kind of cash on a very nice early P210

I haven't followed P7 prices for a few years but nice M8's were pushing $3,000 then, P7's less.

I just checked GB completed auctions and that's about where they are now.

"Real" P7s became expensive enough fast enough that I'm waiting to feel rich enough to order what I'd like from the P7Pro people. Prices just don't seem to be that much higher, at least for some options.

What do I think?
I think the prices are higher than an eagles ass.
I remember when they were $500-$700. Then kaput! No more!
The price shot up quickly. $1200-$1500, now $1700-$2000, if not more.

“If I only knew then”

A good P7 is on my grail list. I just can’t justify dumping that much money on one now.

One of the few times I guessed correctly. One day one of mine will be so valuable that I will trade for one of BAC’s guns. Lol

The last ones I saw selling in my area were in the mid-$2000 range (German police trade-in P7 and commercial P7M8) and the mid-$4000 range (P7M13 and P7M10). The M10 I saw was definitely a deal just because of how rare they are. But after seeing the online prices (including a $7k P7M13), all of the local ones I saw seem like they were a deal too.

Lugers did the same thing along with Pythons.

Then they crashed.

I thought there was some talk at some point of HK producing new ones. Apparently that was just talk, but it does make me think about how much I like mine. I might not like it as much as the next guy.

If my memory is correct, all the HK employees that worked on the P7 series are retired.
Further more the parts & tooling for them was sold off.

A good M8 is in the $4000-$4500 range and the M13 maybe $1000 more.

A standard P7 is anywhere from $1500 to near the price of an M8, depending on condition, year of manufacture, etc.

To me, they seem to be holding steady. They have been about this for a few years.

That new P7 is probably these guys:

I know they've started up but I've never seen a review for any of their guns.

bac1023, the online auctions that are currently live align very consistently with what you say. A number of past auctions that I saw however, all of which were no less recent than a few months ago, sat unsold at prices significantly lower than the ones you listed above.

For example, a P7M13 from 3 months ago sat unsold at $4k (fixed price too), whereas one of the auctions that is currently live has a $7k starting bid.

$7K is a bit optimistic

You would need at least 10 brand new magazines to get anywhere close to that even more a P7M13.

I bought 4 of them back when there was a big surplus $450 I think was the price. Wish I had bought more. I only have 2 left unfortunately.

I still have 5. Eagerly awaiting BAC’s email to trade for an Italian super race gun of my choosing. lol.

Honestly I have made it quite clear to my son that those guns shouldn’t be made into truck guns. That they are worth more than a chunk of the rest of the safe.

I can see my kids using them as plinkers which honestly isn’t a bad idea.

I (probably foolishly) bought a couple of their commemorative versions when they came out, something like "last 500" and I forget what the other one was called.
