I picked up my HK VP9CC with the Vortex Defenderccw optic yesterday at Bass Pro Shop. I am pretty impressed with what I see so far. I won't get a chance to actually shoot it until sometime late next week but I am looking forward to it. The trigger is pretty good when dry firing, not as good as the Walther PDP Pro though. The true test will be after I shoot it some.

I took the VP9CC out today and fired about fifty rounds. The trigger is very good, the pistol is as reliable as I thought it would be, and it is accurate. I was shooting sub three inch groups at 10 yards with Speer Gold Dot 124gr. +P and CCI Blazer 124gr.

I changed the backstrap to the large-extended one and that worked best for me. I also had no problem using the 10 round magazine the way it came without adding the finger rest. Recoil, to me, was surprisingly mild. The dot may need to be readjusted by about an inch or two to raise the point of impact. This will be my main carry piece going forward. Now I am just waiting for my Vedder holster and mag carrier which should be here sometime next week.

The CC9 is incredibly mild shooting for its size. The VPCC SEEMS like it has a tad more grip to it width wise that probably makes it even milder.

I’ve yet to even handle the VP9cc and I will not be buying one …….nope not going to get what amounts to another gun that does the same thing from the same brand………I mean that would be silly……so I am absolutely not going to buy a VP9cc………I mean at least not right now……….it would certainly be much later…….even if it had the paddle mag release…….God Dammit……I’m gonna end up with a VP9cc. . I have a problem. Ahh well better than hookers and heroin I guess.

I ended up with both. No issues with the CC9, shoot it well, put a dot on it. Carries well.
Jumped on a VP9cc. Seems VERY slightly larger in the hand.
Not for/against the paddle release over the button.

For me, the big deal is a slight "bump" at the bottom of the trigger guard. My trigger finger drags against it and over a short period gets sore/irritated. Suppose I could grind it flat?

That was a minor irritation for me when I first got it and dry fired it with the backstrap that came from the factory. When I put the large extended backstrap on it, that problem went away. Go figure.

Crap. Just went through the bag of backstraps that came with it. All the Same! Four number 2's with beavertail and the 1 number 1 that was on it.

The 1 and 2 numbers don’t mean anything. On the bottom of the heel of the backstrap should be a tiny S,M, or L. Also, when off the gun, all of the back straps look like they have a beavertail. When on the gun, the non-beavertail (shorter) version fits flush with the underside of the frame and doesn’t extend past it. You should have 3 backstraps with the longer beavertail, marked S,M, and L, and two with the shorter tail marked S and L. The medium non-beavertail is default on the gun.

The large beavertail one. If you hold them up to look at them three of them stick out a little farther. As Dwill104 stated they are marked on the bottom, you almost need reading glasses to make them out.

Still not sure which to keep. Not seeing any VP9cc 12 rd mags yet.

I backordered the 12 round mags from the HK web shop and they showed up in less than 2 weeks.

I have 2 Vp9CC's. Got the first one for $1229.00 with the red dot. Got the second one about a month later for $969.00 with no red dot.
Don't ask me why I bought 2, because I don't even know myself.My dealer got a total of 3 in. I got the first and the third one, another guy got the second one-which also had the red dot.
They shoot and carry fantastic,they have replaced all my other carry 9's, the triggers are great and the accuracy is HK.
Biggest draw back is the price. But I guess you get what you pay for. They are really well made pistols.
If you can find one and swing the price, grab one. The other micro 9's are all a step down in my opinion.

I ordered a couple of 10 round mags today at HK USA. They have $25 off if you order $100 and $50 off if you order $200 or more. They don't have any 12 round mags in stock yet.
