I've been waiting for this gun and thought they would never release it stateside.

Hopefully a NRA annual meeting release in a few weeks.

It's good to see, I wasn't expecting it to be sold alongside the CC9.

As a paddle man, I have been waiting for this. I skipped the CC9 because of no paddles.

$1049 MSRP gave me serious sticker shock.Eek

I thought it's smaller than the CC9, but Reeves says it's marginally bigger.

Eek
That puts it off any shortlist for a CCW, for me.

Yes and no.

Slightly wider being the only area that is dimensionally larger according to our AI overlords and masters when I asked them.

Note: the “cc” is cutoff for some reason on the right side for the VP9cc.

Likely not happening. Non-rail possibly with a different grip module, but it’s highly doubtful HK will expend any resources to make a non-OR version because 1) almost everyone these days wants to slam a red dot on any pistol and looks down on new pistols that don’t come OR, and 2) it already comes with a cover plate that is pretty much dimensionally identical to what a non-OR slide would be, so what would be the advantage?

I have no explanation but I'll leave your variant right here:

According to James Williamson (Teufelshund Tactical, AKA the HK guy on 1911 Syndicate), the version of the grip without a rail will be available for purchase. This is unsurprising, as the VP9CC has a removable FCU. However, HK is not bringing the non-OR slide as an option.

Maybe the slide would be available from Germany from their SFP9CC variant, since the FCU is the serialized part. I quite like that no-rail, non-OR version myself.

^^^That's the thing though. Coming from Germany, all of the three main parts (FCU, slide, and barrel) are serialized.

CC9 SO BAD...

VP9CC, when American designed and made HK Micro-Compact's just aren't (WEREN'T?) enough.

"A No Compromise, Fully Featured Micro-Compact From Our Factory In Oberndorf, Germany"

I'm certain however that I'll eventually buy it to go along with my USP9c, P2000, P30, P30L, VP9, VP Tactical, VP9L, P2000SK, P30SK.....oh and USP45c and HK45C

That’s true, but in the U.S., only the FCU (or frame on other pistols) serial number counts. The ones on the slide and barrel are irrelevant over here. People replaces slides and barrels on HK pistols all the time.
