There was a Beretta demo day at the local range a few months ago. They had a LTT 92 that I really liked; the smooth soft DA, the slimmer grips, and the fibre optic sight were just right. I would now take one of those over my P226, largely for the big convenient slide stop. By contrast, a stock 92 felt like the box the gun came in.

Funny thing being the Sig Forum, I don’t really love metal Sig’s. I’ve owned a bunch. Still have a couple 226’s, W German 220, but they don’t do anything better than my metal 92’s or CZ’s. The Beretta 92 with an appropriate touch of personalization, TJIAB for starters, is the best of breed for full-size 9’s in my opinion. What’s not to like? Recently-ish I found out about Vertec’sand it started me up all over again. The 92X with Vertec frame is a gift to smaller hands. The Compacts now holding 15 is another one. 92X is best of breed. The trigger is so much better than the old 92 triggers out of the box it sent funny. My 2 were good enough I almost didn’t drop in the TJIAB. I came to my senses and did it anyway though and they are nearly perfect once I swapped in sights of my choosing. The LTT Elite is fantastic but you can save a bunch of money and get almost all the way there (90%+) with a 92X and TJIAB. They come with dovetails so if you choose to upgrade sights you can. I have 2 LTT Elites that Ernest did. They are 2 of the first couple dozen he sold. They are great. My 92X with his drop in kit is just as good.

Ill be the different one... I have an LTT 92, A WC Brig Tac, WC Centurion, and a 92 Vertec with the WC action tune. I give the WC versions a slight edge over my LTT. There is nothing wrong with the LTT, but if you asked me to only pick one it would be the WC That being said.... one of my WC's does wear LTT grips... lol Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

Hopefully you found the perfect LTT config for her. If weight isn't an issue, I would've tossed out the 92X Performance as an option had I seen your thread before today. Darn nice factory trigger, Vertec grip, flat shooter because of the mass of the steel frame, blingy as all get out; perfect for Christmas ('Silver Bells' and all that... ). -MG

Thanks again for for all the feedback. She picked the 92X Elite FS LTT. We found one at the LGS. It is used but in outstanding condition. It shows no sign of wear and looks like it has maybe a couple of mags though it. Pics to follow after a range trip. We did get hands on with the 92X Performance, It is a beautiful firearm but very heavy. Seems like Beretta's answer to the Sig P226 XFive. "You know, Scotland has its own martial arts. Yeah, it's called Fuck You. It's mostly just head butting and then kicking people when they're on the ground." - Charlie MacKenzie (Mike Myers in "So I Married an Axe Murderer")

The WC action tune doesn't effect the pivot point or reset the way that the LTT TJIAB does. The WC treatment is just a D spring and a fluff and buff of moving/rotating parts. The LTT kit includes a trigger bar that changes the geometry. Keep in mind the LTT model alone is not the LTT TJIAB; you have to add it. Order from LTT directly and you can get it already completed. I own a WC BrigTac and CenTac as well as a full size LTT and an LTT Compact. The LTT's are the better guns and cheaper to boot. My LTT Compact with full NP3 LTT parts treatment and a factory threaded barrel
