I have updated this thread title to provide the best representation related to what I have read thus far on several different websites. It is not intended to generate “fake news” or panic. Para and forum moderator’s if this post is out of line I understand the need to remove it and apologize for my error in posting. Wanted to share with everyone something that started circulating earlier this week on several gun related forums that I missed until tonight. Word is that Lake City could be cancelling their commercial orders to focus on increased demand from the US Gov’t. If this is true and you want or need any M855 62 grain 5.56 ammo, you might want to grab it NOW. I just ordered 400 rounds for pick up tomorrow at my local Academy Outdoors that still has the 62 grain Green Tip M855 for $0.60 a round. Here is one of many articles that supports this news. Again, no official word from Lake City or Winchester but a guy at Academy in the gun department told me tonight they were told in their Management meeting on Wednesday (10/18/23) that what they had in the store may be all they get for a while. https://stapledefense.com/lake...ommercial-contracts/

Our local LEO store told me today they aren't seeing anything from Lake City but have good resupply on bonded 62 grain duty rounds. __________________________

I read recently that 20 states attorney generals have written to Bidens gun violence prevention division to ban lake city from selling to the civilian market. Reason being, lake city produces ammo for the military, therefore thier ammo is military grade and military grade ammo doesn't belong on our streets.

Still finding my way |
I agree. Military grade ammo has no place here. We have wayyyy better shit like bonded and open tipped.
