Is modern day Freedom Munitions .30-06 for Garand of good quality: consistent, accurate and safe for the old rifles?

I’ve found the cost difference of freedom munitions/LAX doesn’t seem warrant enough consideration when compared to real factory ammo.

I have some bulk ammo from them and it’s done OKAY, I’ve also returned full cases when it was best to crap and nearly half the rounds were dented.

It doesn’t make sense to buy it anymore to save 1-2$ a box.

OttoSig, the links I posted go to new manufactured ammo, not reloaded fired case ammo.

My interest is in trying different brands and bullet weights of factory ammo in my M1 for accuracy.

I've been happy using reasonable priced PPU, Winchester, Federal 150gr Garand ammo from sgammo.com

Considering costs,

On ammoseek, Freedom Munitions Garand 168gr A-Max new lists for $22.60/20 rounds versus Hornady Vintage Match 168gr ELD for $31.58/20.

That's almost nine dollars per box of twenty different.

In quantities of 200 rounds, the price difference is $98.00, a significant savings.

I just want to be sure that the new Freedom Munitions is consistently at Garand pressures, so not to damage my rifle.

Were your bad experiences from Freedom Munitions ammo you bought quite some time ago?

Yes, I'm tracking everything you stated. I'm not saying it's reloaded brass, but I'm saying FM/LAX, to me anyway, are not true factory ammunition. They are a lot like the Georgia Heat outfit. Maybe I'm wrong there.

What I've received from them, both reman and new has been subpar.

PPU 150 grain ball is .50c more a box than FM. Hornady A-max is 24.99 a box, 2.50c more a box. To me, those cost savings are not enough to take the chance on FM/LAX.

That's no good. Any damage to your gun or your face?

We had a pierced primer on an S&B 6.5x55 round in my son's Swede and it scared the hell out of us and locked up the bolt. I had to take it home and tear it down and re-assemble to get it working again, but thankfully no permanent damage. Have never had a problem with that gun before or since...had to be that ammo.

Yipes. I’ve never heard of pierced primers before. Is this only for rifle rounds? Larger or even for smaller rounds like 223? Pistol 9mm rounds? I was gifted some FM ammo.
