Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best |
This looks interesting, if it works. There are quite a few quality boutique options out there in this genre, but they're expensive and hard to come by. Their supply is also kind of fickle...Underwood just discontinued my go-to hard cast .44 load, for example. Hornady is pretty good about getting stuff on shelves and at reasonable prices. They also tend to stick with a product for the long term, and will probably also offer the bullets as standalone components. If this stuff holds together and penetrates as advertised, I can see myself buying a bunch. Bullet profiles that are optimized for feeding in autos while still retaining a flat meplat for cutting penetration, and a jacket to keep things cleaner. IMO it has potential. https://www.hornady.com/ammuni...ckcountry-defense#!/ | ||

Thanks for that. I was wistfully hoping that there would be some 357 SIG ammunition loaded with those bullets. Handloading? Sure, but not being motivated to get back into that endeavor, I guess I'll just have to get some 44 Magnum for my S&W Mountain Gun. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans ….
