Hey, I decided to load 150ttsx bullets for my 280ai this fall for deer. A bit stout and heavy of a bullet for deer, but why not? After sighting in I took a week and went to verify zero with my kimber Montana and thunder beast ultra 7. 1/8” to the right and dead on elevation at 100 yards. Time to go hunting. Last Sunday I lined up a 90 yard shot on a 5x5 blacktail and smashed him through the boiler room. Post mortem was a half a heart left and solid 4” wound track through the lungs. He ran 20 yards and piled up. Thursday my buddy and I went out and he used my rifle to get a 5x5 at 40 yards. Neck shot that had a 3” wound track right through the spine and jugular. It didn’t take a step. The Barnes ttsx are probably too tough for deer in a heavy for caliber bullet, but they open well at high velocities. My load is 2975 at the muzzle. What are your experiences with ttsx?

They're my go to deer bullet. You're right absolutely devastating. I've always had complete pass through with large exit wounds. Deer aren't tough to kill, but I really like the performance of this bullet. ---------------------------------- Don't believe everything you think.

I've shot 130gr original Barnes X in my 270 for years. They have been amazing. I have a box of 50 bullets that I need to get loaded up to last me the rest of my life, considering I switch a lot between rifles. I am using Nosler E-tips in my 7x57 and, while I haven't killed a deer with them yet, they will flat shoot in this rifle. I have always shot 100gr Partitions in my 243 but thinking about going to a solid copper bullet but I don't love the idea of going down to 85 or 90gr. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.
