I’m doing some informal accuracy testing with wadcutters for my 649. Looking for poa/poi.
This Underwood load was impressive. Recoil was not bad either. 5 rounds at 5 yards.

In the attached video, Paul Harrell tested .38 Special wadcutters along with an array of modern loads. His conclusion is the wadcutter made very good sense in short barreled .38 revolvers prior to the advent of +P loads and modern bullet technology. He did however outline a few scenarios where the wadcutter still makes good sense today. Skip to 29:40 for his quick synopsis.
