I ordered some of this and it is WARM. Shoots well, functions well at least in the 2 pistols I tried. I am curious how effective the "controlled expansion" is... does anyone know of a test I could look at?

Lest anyone assume from the linked pic that these are simply Gold Dot pills, they definitely aren't.

Some Speer Gold Dots on the left, Double Tap on the right. The closest thing I can think of is the old Super Vel JHPs. Strange, blunt-round nose with a long ogive.

On any Ammo I am curious of how it expands I have used the “poor man’s ballistic test.” You soak at least 12” worth of phone books in water for at least 24 hours. Then tie them together with string and shoot them. Gets harder to find phone books now days; used to my post office had a giant bin of free ones to take.

I don’t know that bullet but it looks like old tech cup and core.

If I wanted a controlled expansion bullet moving at high speed I would find an XTP loading.

Looks similar to some Corbon +P JHP's I've had.
