What is the difference from Federal Independence XM855 Ammunition and Federal Lake City XM855 Ammunition?

The last I knew, IMI produced at least some of the Independence line for Federal. That intel is about a year old, can't confirm for sure that this is still true.

If you are asking regarding performance between the two, I can't say. I pretty much load my own with once-fired brass.

Barring knowing one performs better in a particular gun - I would buy whichever is cheaper.

to call it 'xm855' it should be loaded / manufactured to roughly the same specs. Emphasis on 'should'. Since it isn't going to the DOD they can monkey with the specs a bit if they choose to.

But it is generally safe to say it would be akin to military M855 in specs.
