All of the mounting options and requirements has had my head spinning. But today I saw that the Daniel Defense DD4 V7 SLW has a Dead Air Xeno QD Flash Hider installed from the factory. Does that mean all I would need to do is put a Dead Air Adapter on a Dead Air or other compatible suppressor and I’d be good to go? Any downside to this mounting system? Thanks in advance!
DA sells Xeno adapters for HUB thread pitch and DA’s P-series thread pitch. You can use whatever can you want that’s rated for the gun and has a thread pitch that fits the adapter. I think Xeno is pretty good and really doesn’t have any downsides. Better than Keymo IMHO.

There is also an alpha pattern adapter for rugged and others that use that thread pitch (rugged obsidian for example). Xeno is a great system, its real issue is that its not been adopted by the industry in any meaningful way, so you are dependent on DA. I don't use it often but for p series DA cans its really the best option so I do have some experience. And it works fine. And its LH which is a massive plus. Make sure you get a can that has available one of the DA Xeno adapters (or a third party one) and be happy ever after...

I would recommend going over to Ecco Machine and read his Suppressor Mount Explanation to get the basics on threads and HUB, Alpha, Bravo, Omega acronym alphabet.
The short answer is the Dead Air 455 mount mated to nearly any suppressor with HUB threads will work.
If you buy a Sierra 5, Lazarus 6, or Sandman X, pick the Xeno mount and your done. You can also pick another manufacturer's can that has HUB threads, buy the #455 mount and have an easy setup. I can think of at least 50 cans that would work. There are a few limitations, like a can having a super short blast chamber that might not fit, but that's rare. I do like the Xeno left hand threads and I would absolutely pick it over Keymo.
Edit: I had 458, but HUB is the 455 mount. DA is out of stock, but seem easy to find on a Google search. This message has been edited. Last edited by: ibanda,
