What silencer and/or adapter do I need for my P226? Login/Join

I found a 1/2x28 threaded Bar Sto P226 9mm barrel in a rummage sale a while ago, and want to try to make it work with my Silencerco Spectre 9k silencer. I don't think they make an adapter for it, but will call them tomorrow. I got the silencer for my MP5 and, with a 3 lug adapter, it works fine there. If they don't make an adapter for this, does anyone else?

Or am I better off getting a LH SIG barrel and some other silencer? I'd like to get something that's compatible with all my other SIG 9mm guns, obviously assuming I have the right barrels for those. What's the most economical way to go here?

Most economical way that gives you compatibility with other pistols is just whatever Silencerco 1/2x28 Alpha compatible booster assembly they make for your Spectre. The big finnicky part with suppressing a P226 is not falling down the reverse thread trap, and you skipped that right from jump. Now, if you want to buy factory Sig threaded barrels for the other guns, they're going to be LH barrels and this one won't play with those.

You simply need the booster assembly complete.
With a 1/2x28 piston. alpha side suppressor mount, spring and correct booster.
I think you can also get some of those from Ecco, but not 100% sure.

I’ve had a restock notification for Ecco for about a year now. I actually sold the can I was going to get it for, I just gave up. So, that is to say, someone other than Ecco would be the move, probably.

Didn’t the Spectre 9k come with a piston housing? The SiCo page says it ships with the booster piston housing in the box.

Yes, but I have no idea what the internal thread is. It's nothing close to 1/2x28. I will call them in a bit.

The Alpha adapter I thought I needed has this little tidbit in the description:

"This thread mount is not for use on pistols with unlocking or moving barrels. Using this mount on a pistol can result in damage to the suppressor."

Not sure exactly what you’re asking. The rear of the Spectre is Alpha thread pitch, 1.125x28. Anything that screws into the back of the suppressor has to have that thread pitch, whether it’s the 3-lug adapter, the booster piston housing, or a direct thread adapter. If you currently have a 3 lug on the Specter, you remove the 3 lug adapter and screw in the booster piston housing. You simply take apart the piston housing and put in the appropriate piston for your barrel, which sounds like it’s 1/2x28. How to attach the piston housing is explained in the manual.

Not sure I understand the issue you’re facing. It’s exactly the same if you used an Sig barrel in the metric left hand thread. You’d simply use a M13.5x1 LH piston.

That sounds like a fixed barrel mount for PCC’s. Links to the stuff you’re looking at or talking about would help us more quickly figure out what the deal is. I think Dwill is onto something here with his last post, though.

This is what I think I need for the Spectre 9k, but it says no go with pistols with moving barrels.

That’s a direct thread mount. It’s for fixed barrels.

This shows what you need.

What parts do you have and what parts do you need? We know you need a piston, at least.

Ok, just got a chance to look this over again. The parts shown above are for the Spectre 9. I have the 9k. I need to call them to see if they're compatible.

the 9K is still alpha pattern, no different from the 9 in this area.

K just means the can is shorter overall, the thread pitch for the mounts isn’t gonna be different.

My Spectre 9 came with everything in Dwill's picture (the housing, spring and retainer) except the 1/2 x 28 piston. 1/2 x 28 (piston part #AC25) is the most common for 9mm pistols, but it's not universal so they leave that out of the package in case you have the european left hand threads. I'm 90% sure it would be the same parts for the 9k. Even if they are not available on the SiCo website check on the shelf of your local dealers for the piston parts.

I also bought a fixed barrel spacer so that it could go on direct thread if I ever wanted to, and I bought the 3 lug mount to put it on a PCC. I have every option covered now.

The internal threads of the suppressor are "Alpha" threads.
