Don't refrain from sharing. The information is useful. Your initial evaluation was certainly correct; someone who doesn't use Silencershop would start counting on the day that yours was "pending". For someone who's not familiar with Silencershop, like me, it was confusing that you waited four months, but didn't include one of them in your final count; but now I understand why.

Between yours and hrcjon's examples, it seems a ninety day turnaround is perhaps a bit fortunate, but certainly within realistic hoping range for most, in terms of E-file form4.

It's interesting to note that the Silencershop administrative time has a much bigger impact on an E-form4, due to the overall shorter ATF processing time. An extra month on a three month wait is a bigger deal than an extra month on a 12 month wait.

The issue with SS is that their process is for the dealer to use SS’s Full Auto software to fill in the ATF eForm. Basically, instead of the dealer manually filling out the Form 4, they push a button, and the fields on the form are autopopulated through the software. When eForm 4 went live on 12/23, the SS software wasn’t ready. It wasn’t until mid-January that the software was rolled out to most of the dealers and training was provided.

In short, there was an initial 3-4 week delay once eForm 4 came out due to delays in SS getting their software out and working. That delay doesn’t exist now. I bought my can from store stock on 12/29, but it wasn’t ready to certify until 1/21, three weeks later. I don’t believe that three week delay currently exists for SS purchases because the software is out and working.

Does the SS admin process add time? Yes. Is it the same now as it was in January? No.

my experience with SS delays is actually worse than the Dwill104 discussion. Through a variety of mistakes on SS part orders from last fall were eventually migrated to efile in 2022. And that meant the earliest they got to the ATF was 1/21/22 or 1/22/22 as Dwill104 explains. But that story is having a happy ending. Today another of the 1/22/2022 batch arrived approved so clearly 4-8 months earlier than had the original paper forms been submitted.
So here you go.
individual, efile 1/22/2022. approved 4/27/2022.
This is looking better and better, congratulations to the ATF people working on this program.
Oddly (never try and explain the ATF) the first of my catchup batch filed on 1/21/2022 has not been seen.
And more to the point recent SS orders take less than 24hours to get to certify.

Surefire socom rc2 purchased from Brad here on the forums. 366 days from check cashed on a trust.

Waiting sucked but the joy of playing with it made it worth it.

The last of my first batch of Eform4's arrived today.
So submitted 1/22/2022 cleared on 5/3/2022.
The next one was submitted on 2/1/2022 has not yet been seen so they are running a bit over the 90 day window in my case. My Paper forms are now all over 8 months FWIW.

Two eform 4's on SS trusts, both approved on day 101. Much better than I was expecting.

my oldest outstanding Eform4 cleared today so 119 days for this one. Getting slower, but still way better than the paper ones that I have outstanding.
