I picked up this XL/EDC Siegle today. Beefy blade 1/4" stock with tapered tang made of 5160 steel. About 9" overall length and feels great in the hand. Very pleased with it.

Haven't seen any information to that effect but he has stated in the past that Winkler was an inspiration for some of his designs.

Bill is an outstanding knifemaker, he sells mostly on Blade Forums, is very popular. I've known him for years but didn't know his NY background. James Schmidt is a legend, I loved attending NY shows and stopping to see what he brought, never had a knife for sale and I couldn't afford it anyway. You'll get great service from your Siegle.

Thanks for chiming in UTsig. I knew very little about him but I knew I liked his knives. Based on that__ I think I would like Winkler knives as well.
