Please talk me into or out of buying a new one. I've never even held one, or seen one in person. Are they good/strong enough for everyday carry as a regular pocketknife. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, MGO Annual Member

I can think of a lot better options for an everyday knife, especially for the price. Not a style that appeals to me personally. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I like the fact that they don't scream "TACTICAL". ____________________________ NRA Life Member, MGO Annual Member

Yea. I've been carrying mine since the mid eighties. My favorite. The new ones are built by "Otter" You can recognize the new ones because they lack a hole in the lever. My W.Germany Hubertus. Bill DeShivs does shell puller conversion on Hubertus knives. https://billdeshivs.com/bd/ind..._page=index&cPath=14 .

You have a nice knife Greymann, I love the real life wear on it, very good looking, especially given the fact that you've been carrying it for ~40 years. Does the hole in the lever have a purpose other than style? ____________________________ NRA Life Member, MGO Annual Member

The hole has no purpose. The new ones are very well made. https://www.otter-messer.de/me...LrXzsS0cE2J6QtX6Wuq- .

Mine was purchased in Germany. PVK in Nevada sells Hubertus. I've bought some different knives from them in the past. https://pvk.com/hubertos-solingen-s/1108.htm A member bought one recently, maybe he will comment. https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...100064694#8100064694 Arizona knives has some W.Germany Hubertus. I've have no experience with that company. https://www.arizonacustomknive...ker/hubertus-knives/This message has been edited. Last edited by: Greymann,

I am very impressed with the quality of this knife! Only time will tell if the new spring design will hold up better than the old design, at least with the old two piece design you could easily replace the kicker spring if need to. As they say "pics or it never happened". [URL= ][URL= ____________________________ NRA Life Member, MGO Annual Member

Just want to relay a little information about these Otter/Hubertus lever locks. When they first started to make them, Otter used a newly designed one piece backspring incorporating the newly designed kicker spring. I don't know when, but Otter went back to the old two piece springs...HOORAY!! My knife indeed has the old two piece design, now if and/or when the kicker spring breaks I can replace the kicker spring rather easily without taking the knife apart. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, MGO Annual Member

Greymann, your pics have disappeared here. Was the knife you posted pics of a "Liliput" model? After carrying my 11cm model for almost three weeks, I am finding it a little too big and heavy for EDC in my pocket. I just ordered one of these liliputs for myself. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, MGO Annual Member
