I swapped the clip to carry in the left pocket today. Benchmade auto. Not sure if I can become accustomed to left pocket, but trying to be more ready for knife use as a backup when pistol strong hand is compromised by either injury or close quarters interaction.

I almost ordered an Overland at some point a year ago or so, but decided it was too much money (for something I needed about as much as I need three more toes on each foot). So I slowly let the idea go.

Last week I got the crazy crave to buy a certain knife... again something I really don't need by any stretch of the imagination. I even tried to buy it, a couple times. But the site's checkout wasn't working and it saved me from myself. That gave me a couple days to cool off. So in order to ease the urge and get my fix window shopping. Several day on various sites looking at other things. All sorts of styles, sizes and makers, and in a very long, round about way I ended up back at Scwharz. "Oh yeah, I almost bought one of these." They're cheaper now. (they are NOT cheaper now, but it was a couple bucks less than the knife I almost bought, and about the same price as other dumb knife purchases I've made since I almost bought one the first time. So with that gauge of stupidity, it is now "cheaper", the stupid bar having been raised, the tolerance level heightened. So I ordered the Overland.

Of course I know eventually, I'll still end up ordering the other one. This is why I'm knife/gun rich and everything else poor.

Spyderco Starmate Sprint Run (2025). This is an excellent knife and is my favorite Spyderco. It just fits right in the hand. Unlike some negative comments I have seen online in reviews, everything is perfect on this one. The blade is centered, there is no rubbing of the blade against the frame, and it is finished really nicely!

I just received this from a maker in Poland. This is a called a Yakut, a knife traditional to the people of Siberia. It's a gift for a young lady that was raised in Siberia, she camps a lot and has a 10 yo son to pass it down to.
