I lost a Benchmade Auto Presidio II. I remember using it to cut twine at Home Depot.

A bunch of them. I've been carrying a pocket knife since I was about 12 y.o. so you can imagine a bunch of them went missing as a kid. Not many knives had clips back them and a lot of the time I was wearing slash pocket chinos and knives just fell out of those pockets all the time.
I've lost Old Timers and Cases and Gerbers. Recently I've lost two Kershaw Leeks that I can think of. Lost a pretty Hen & Rooster.
My current Kershaw Link 1776 has been found and returned to me twice... once by my BIL after losing it on the hunting property and again by someone on my street down at the lake when I set it on the tailgate of the Polaris and drove off without it.
Fortunately, I've been able to hang onto the knives I really care about... My Buck 110s, my Pumas, my Buck 105, my two childhood Swiss Army knives, and an old Kingston USMC given to me by a family friend when I was a kid.
There ain't much difference in the man I want to be and the man that I really am.

While on my annual two-week vacation (my supervisor called it that) supporting a Marine Reserve exercise in '96 I was hit with the need to visit the fiberglass latrines. My Ka-bar was secured to my utilities belt on the left side and as I was preparing to do what was necessary, its weight pulled the belt loose and off slid my Ka-bar into the foul depths below.

The one I kick myself about losing as a kid was an old Craftsman “scout knife” type folder with red scales, that was my Dad’s toolbox knife. Dad never carried a pocketknife and if he ever noticed it was missing from his toolbox, he didn’t say anything about it, I sure wish I had it back.

I have a small collection of knives ( I was a big Benchmade fan before the cut up guns and donated to leftists episodes soured me on them) My wife had gifted me a preproduction prototype switchback. Usually all my knives except the few I rotate for EDC stay lined up in the nightstand on my wife’s side of the bed. For about 2 years now, the prototype is no where to be found. Hadn’t been carried outside the house, loaned to anyone or anything like that. Can’t figure where it has gone. Still hope to find it!

The one that I miss was a Spyderco Military in S110V. The Military is my favorite overall daily carry knife and I have several of them in different steels. S110V is my favorite steel I've used in them - Probably until I get one in Magnacut. :-)

Benchmade Darkstar. Loved it, carried it, lost it. Can't find a suitable replacement and dislike the modern Benchmades.

I lost a few spyderco endures back when they still had the design flaw plastic clip as part of the masks. Would catch and break easily.
When I was 13? My grandmother gave me a nice Swiss army. Had just the perfect amount of tools on it. Was either stolen or lost on a boy scout trip. I was pretty meticulous about things like that so I’m leaning towards somebody swiped it. Felt sick annd embarrassed about it for years. I still have the “official” Cub Scout 4 blade folder I got from my great grandmother when I was 8.
My son and all his friends got nice official Boy Scout Buck folder when they earned their arrow of light and moved up to Boy Scouts. Another dad in the pack had an engraving machine customised each blade with the pack name and # and boys name and year. My kid’s is no where to be found. At least it had his name on it whoever has it.

Hoping not to jinx myself... the only knife losses that come to mind were I started carrying an old Victorinox Tinker I'd had forever, with some sort of lanyard/key chain setup in my back pocket at work. And then it was gone. I knew where it must have happened and went back, but someone must have picked it up. Lost my knife and my keys.
The very next day I replaced it with a very old Camillus electricians knife, carried the same way. Whatever happened to cause the loss of the Victorinox happened again with the Camillus, and I lost two cherished old knives in two days. And that as the end of doing that.

I had the most beautiful little carbon fiber axis lock Benchmade, 551, I think. About the perfect gentleman’s carry. Lost it at church. Bought another but it wasn’t the same. lol
Wrong. 770 Osborne. Oh I loved that knife.

This topic is too painful for me to think about. It's worse because knives can be so personal or special, or just so perfect for the job at hand.
I should start a new thread for lost coats, won't even go there.
Good lord this is depressing.

I lost my first Benchmade 940 in a tumble down a rather steep mountain many years ago. I didn’t notice until it was too late to look for it.

I lost my first Benchmade, a Panther, while casting a net for bait at 5:00 one morning. It sleeps with the fishes in Lake Allatoona after snagging the pocket clip on my cast net. This message has been edited. Last edited by: JWF,
