I know Ed Fowler is a long standing member here and has participated a good bit. There is an advisement on a knife-related forum that he passed away this past weekend. One of the best and a renowned long-time custom knifemaker. <>< America, Land of the Free - because of the Brave

Very sad to hear this. I enjoyed reading his exploits in retirement here on the forum. Mike You can run, but you cannot hide. If you won't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

I met and chatted with Ed many times at New York knife shows, he was interesting and fun. "Nature scares me" a quote by my friend Bob after a rough day at sea.

God speed Ed. Thanks for your contributions here. Another that will be sorely missed. Prayers for his family. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

I remember Ed’s long-running “Shooting in Style” thread. Leaning back in a lounge chair and shooting his P210 at a target 100 yards distant. That was when SIGforum threads disappeared after an interval of no additional posts. Ed carried his Walther PPK .22lr when he went to town. Serious about crackers.

RIP, Ed. Wasn't his CUT something along the lines of Cowboy and friend to all? Always enjoyed his posts, but I think it's been a while/

Godspeed Ed, I have always enjoyed your posts. "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

I met him at Bladeshow, I remember watching someone filming him and thinking how annoyed I was. I got real tired of all the 'inlfuencers' walking around, "hey fam, which knife do you think makes me look pretty" BUT I am honored to at least been introduced to him on a number of occasions (my mentor always walks me around and we talk with folk.) We even talked once about Wootz steel. I never knew he was a member of the forum here. dang it. This is not my video but it captures him a small bit. What an incredible person. Yes sir, remember that thread well. Still remember seeing that photo of him sitting at his front porch, elbows resting on his knees/thighs, leaning back against the chair aiming at the distance, I said, “What a life”. RIP, Ed, “Author, cowboy, friend to all”. Q

I would read his column in Blade magazine. He had a straightforward writing style which I enjoyed. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Thank you for letting us know, soflaac. Thank you for the video, redstone. I didn't know Ed, but I am glad to know more about him from all of you; what a fine artisan he was. This board has a lot of amazing, very talented people. I usually feel like I am looking up to just about everyone here, and I appreciate being a part of this great group, less one today. Thank you for the time you spent here, Ed. .

RIP Ed. Met him in NYC many years ago, IIRC he had a baseball sized ball bearing on his table that would later be formed into a knife.
